Not sure. The one I'm thinking of is in 7/4 time or something equally unusual.

I know what you mean - I'd hate for a favourite song to be ruined.

Ellie, I listened to that song, my (highly!!!!!!!!) inexpert impression is that it would be very slow (= difficult) for a rumba, but could possibly be a wonderful one with a really skilful couple.”

Aaahh, OK- thought it might not be a viable one!! What about Hallelujah by Jeff Buckley? For any kind of dance- sort of has a lilting quality, but not sure what that would be good for....!

I was thinking about suggesting that too - great minds!

They need to choose better songs for the Rhumba - at the moment they're a bit cheesy/cringey!

You can have one from me, too, Buddy

Please don't take my opinion as gospel though, I can tell you the time signature of a piece and whether it's fast or slow, but my guesses when it comes to "will it make a ...." are less certain!

I do think it could be good for a really good couple who had the requisite control. I think.

I take it you wouldn't like James Blunt's 'You're Beautiful' then?

Thought 'Songbird' by Fleetwood Mac was an excellent choice on Saturday night though and made Cherie and Jame's rhumba for me.

Can imagine a VW to it.... Will state again- know absolutely naff all about music/what dance would work with the music, so if that is a completely idiotic suggestion, forgive me!!

Yes, I love that song, was a great choice.

Need to listen to Hallelujah again, I can't remember it well enough to work out what timing it's in.

Oh yes James & Cherie were an exception - I didn't feel at all embarrassed whilst watching their Rhumba (whilst I usually do when watching this dance!)

Not sure about James Blunt - I think certain dancers/celebs could pull it off. Not Brendan though (whoever he may be partnered with - he is pure cheese on toast that guy).

What about Eva Cassidy - Fields of Gold?

'Never Tear us Apart'

Would a VW suit it? (is rubbish with the dancing).

Oh yes, perfect for a rhumba, as long as they get a good singer to do it!

Please make allowances as I don't dance and know b*gger all about timings etc... but mine would be

Sia - Breath Me for a rumba, plus I think the lyrics lend themselves to it

The Killers - When You were Young or Mr Brightside for a Tango (even if they don't actually work I've still got awesome ones worked out in my head )

Danny and the Junior - At the Hop - Jive (but might be a bit fast)

Blur - The Universal - always thought parts of it could fit quite nicely with a V Waltz

Again, I actually know nothing about dance, which probably shows with my choices

Don't worry about it, I'm the same. Not a dancer (I have two left feet - my talents lie elsewhere, nudge nudge, wink wink) so I've been naming tracks off the top of my head.

What about The Killers - Somebody Told Me for a Paso?

Love that song- good choice...

Sounds random but having heard Kings of Leon- Sex On Fire earlier- I think it would make a good jive!! Although not sure that the Beeb would approve of it being on a family show!!

Me too...his lines were good!! No hip action though.

What about a jive to 'A Town called malice?'

Weren't The Killers used last series or the one before? They do have great songs, especially Mr Brightside.

Didn't Kate & Anton do this one last year ?

Goo Goo Dolls - Iris for a VW, although I know nothing about the timings for dances...
