This may sound like a crazy idea but i would love to see a tango done to the Imperial March (Darth Vader's Theme) from Star Wars.

Was watching Return of the Jedi on saturday after the show and thought this would make a great moody and dramatic tango

Samba Pa Ti by Santana but not for a samba strangely, would make a nice rumba.

The song has been a massive hit this year and i can see a wonderful Rumba routine going along with it.”

I think that would work great.

A samba to Loveboat by Kylie. It's screams samba to me.

"Where do you go to my lovely?" for a waltz or VW. Has that been done before? I know it's exceptionally cheesy, but the right couple could make it work.

I didn't think I was going to like Sweet About Me, but I did when I saw it.

I don't think it has, actually. Good choice.

Good one - I'll bet the audience and the public would love that too!

I'd like to see the pro's dancing to something different.

RUMBA : LIGHTHOUSE FAMILY - LOST IN SPACE

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Yi3OfIGtLxc&fmt=18

JIVE: THE ROLLING STONES - JUMPIN JACK FLASH

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=gAqtsNWkpUk&fmt=18

SAMBA: The Young Rascals - Good Lovin'

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=bMJILmJMA3g&fmt=18

CHA CHA: Adam Sandler - Werewolves Of London

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ltSsgwo_Euo&fmt=18

For that last one, the makup department could do the wolf equivalent of the 'Cats' makeup.

Ooh, good thread. I'm a bit rubbish about knowing who sings what etc but like most people on here (I suspect) I know what I'd like to dance to if I was on SCD.
I also agree with Len a bit that some dances suit older songs better.

Top choice has to be 'Moonlight Serenade' (Glenn Miller Band) for a foxtrot, or maybe 'Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered' (Sinatra?).

Also they're cheese on toast (as someone said earlier about Brendan ) but 'I Think I'd Better Leave right Now' (Will Young), 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow' (Eva Cassidy) or 'Closest Thing To Crazy' (Katie Melua) could work well for rumbas.

Jive seems relatively easy to pick for with 'Boogiewoogie Bugle Boy', 'I'm So Excited' (Pointer Sisters) and 'Making Your Mind Up' (Bucks Fizz) my favourites because I think all would lend themselves to memorable choreography.

I'd also like to see 'Paint It Black' (Stones) for a paso and 'In Trutina' (as used by Torvill & Dean) for an Argentine tango. And I think we could all imagine Ola cha cha-ing to 'Sex Bomb' (Tom Jones)

'For Once In My Life' would make a great American smooth (Michael Buble version) or samba (Stevie Wonder version).
Sorry for long post, got a bit carried away!

Quickstep: Goodbye Mr A (The Hoosiers)
King of the Swingers (Jungle Book!!)
Foxtrot: Call Me Irresponsible
Samba: It Had Better Be Tonight (Meglio Stasera)
Rumba: I'm Not That Girl (WICKED)

Darren and Tish danced foxtrot to "Call Me Irresponsible" last year.

I HATE the Hoosiers so please not that one.

I didn't like Letitia so didn't actually watch any of her dances which may be why i don't remember that!

I forgot to transfer all my dancing songs onto my new laptop and my old one is in a different country but I had literally hundreds of chas, jives and quicksteps in particular.

Another song I'd like danced to would be Perfect Day - a Vienese waltz maybe? ”

As used by Matt D and Mark R in the Viennese Waltz in the final, series4.

Julian and Erin!!!

Now you're cooking with gas!!!

That is a fantastic idea and as someone said, perfect perfect quickstep. Everybody would be smiling to that one.

My own song choice is specifically for Lilia. Her jiving to Back In The USSR.
