I know this has been asked before but this is it with a twist,

My parents have a Yamaha TSS-15 surround system and whilst it is small and maybe not the best out there it does exactly what they need.

I would ideally like the same system but it has been discontinued and seems Yamaha are not replacing it as such, all the similar priced kits are the DVD systems.

I need a system to be able to handle a DVD player, Sky HD, PS3 and Wii, the TSS-15 would do this with no issues but as said, I cant get one.

Can anyone recommend a similar system that will offer TRUE surround and the ability to connect with the 4 above items.

I think it will need

2x optical in
2 x RCA in or similar stereo.

thanks

No idea how small your budget is, but the Yamaha package is £170.

In regards to the connections - Sky HD and PS3 will be optical, what has the DVD got, optical/coaxial? - no idea on the Wii.

The Yamaha has 2x optical and 1x coaxial

You may need something with a better selection of audio inputs, otherwise you may find yourself using a switchbox for certain components.

thanks for the that, the wii is just RCA connections, a right and a left cable. the DVD has countless interfaces, HDMI, SCART, RCA, COAX, Component, Optical...

That unit may well do the job, Ill have to pay my local audio store a visit and check it out for certain, it is a shame it doesnt stand on its side tho, space is very limited with 4 units already under the TV.

Cheers for the links!

Ill take a little look in to that yamaha package but I suspect it may not be what i need if it only has 3 inputs.
It has three digital inputs (2x optical and 1x coaxial) plus an additional 5 analogue inputs (RCA/phono).

You would be able to connect Sky HD/PS3 via optical, DVD via coaxial and the Wii to one of the RCA inputs.

You should be able to get surround sound from the Wii too though it will only be DPLII.
