Hi guys,

Wondering if anyone can help. We have a Panasonic plasma TV, bought about 3 years ago (not an HD tv).

When we had Sky+ installed last year, I was discussing the possibility of SKY+HD with the SKY engineer and I said something like "I'll have to think about it 'cos it would mean a new telly". He looked at the back of our telly and said "no, it's OK, you've got a slot in this one, you'll be able to connect Sky HD".

Does anyone know what he was referring to? Sorry I can't give the actual model no. of the TV at the mo 'cos I'm at work.

HDMI socket is what you are looking for. Bit like a bigger USB socket.

He might mean the component socket too. (red/blue/green) sockets on the back.

Do the latest Sky HD boxes still have component outputs?

No they don't but many installers still have old stocks with them on.

I'm disappointed in you my daughter used to pick them up and chase her ex-boyfriend with them (he was a semi-professional wrestler!).
