Just watched ITT and have come to the conclusion that this man is a pillock.

I pity Lisa and every other woman that has been subjected to Brendan's impatient, unsupportive, insensitive ways on Strictly.

He has no idea how to treat a lady. He needs to look at how some of the other male pros train their celebrities and take a leaf out of their book.

Perhaps then he will have more success.

Excuse me?

This is the first time I've posted on the subject and I have every right to on a forum where we are discussing Strictly and its dancers.

If you find the thread so boring, why post on it? Take your yawns elsewhere

Hi Sid

Brendan definately needs to be more considerate with Lisa. I feel really sorry for her.

The man just gets worse by the day! The BBC should axe him ASAP!

Hi Carol

I would go so far as to say he's coming across as a bit of a bully. I wasn't overly keen on Lisa to begin with, but I do feel very sorry for the lass at the moment

I'm no particular Brendan defender, and I don't get the impression there is any great longterm friendship with Brendan and Lisa (jmo), but we don't know he wasn't considerate. Lisa was just stressed. Rachel cried last week, and it was no reflection on Vincent either. We saw Brian being quite strict with Heather too, and she could see the value of it.

It's not the point of rehearsals for them to be fun all the time. This is hard work, and on here we're all very harsh on the celebs that don't put the hours in. Lisa and Brendan's hours are relatively high. They are bound to get tense a bit. I bet Lisa would rather be really good on Saturday than be treated with kid gloves.

Because I can !

Of course you are entitled to your view. I have no problem that people don't like Brendan but I am also entitled to my opinion that there are already enough negative Brendan threads and if I want to post that on your thread and put it back to the top of the board that that is my right and probably works more to your advantage than mine!

I didn't mean to upset you Sid but I didn't think Brendan was that bad on the clips shown tonight. Erin was also quite hard and so was Ola but where are the threads about how unsympathetic they are?

Anyway, I hope we can agree to disgree. I like to get on with folks

I kind of think that the use of a car for the weekend, particularly when he's going to be at the BBC all day Saturday and probably sleeping on Sunday, is quite stingy pay for a photo shoot! Maybe he went a bit too far in response but that's standard negotiating. I would have thought a month's membership might have been a reasonable offer. I'd also factor in that he's got a lot of time pressure working on the show, so his time is more valuable to him at the moment, and he's less likely to give it up unless it's for a decent payment.

I'm not a huge fan of his, but sometimes I think things like this get blown out of proportion. He has got a perfect right to turn something down if he doesn't think it's worth it.

I have found myself defending him because I do think the BBC wants him to be a certain "character" and edits footage to show this side of his character, BUT....

I think he is not showing himself as being a supportive partner. I know Claire King said he wasn't kind to her and was impatient with her when she struggled due to arthritis. last year I thought he was supportive as he appeared to be letting Kelly do what she wanted, but then there was the famous strop after the judges said his choreography had not be adventurous enough. I think the view then was "he was annoyed as he knew Kelly was struggling due to her father's illness".

I was not sure this was wholly the reason for the strop, and have to say that this year have yet to see him in supportive mode.

Of course we can agree to disagree - that's half the fun of the forums

But it's rather rude to come along on a thread, yawn, then bugger off again without even expressing your point of view!

No hard feelings - oh and I couldn't see any similar threads on the front page or else I'd have posted on them.

Just how this can be construed from watching tonight's ITT, I have no clue. Don't get me wrong, I am often NOT impressed with Brendan and his antics but tonight's ITT has shown nothing untoward from Brendan's side. Lisa just wanted to do well and she was stressed...

Exactly! Why in gods name did someone have to start this thread when TWO OTHER CELEBS had to get out of the training room away from there partners I have no idea! just brendan bashing again without knowing the man!

The difference is, Vincent and Brian handled the breakdown of their partners very differently. They were supportive towards them - I even remember Vincent whispering 'I'll protect you' into Rachel's ear afterwards which was a rather sweet touch.

Brendan just bickers or storms off. It's not the first year he's done so. It's every series.

It's a build of my perceptions of Brendan over the course of 4 series. Tonight's training highlights were the last straw as far as I'm concerned. It was like deja vu. Seen the same thing year in year out where Brendan is concerned.

I guess we all interpret what we see differently.....

Brendan didn't storm off, Lisa did. Okay, we didn't see Brendan going after Lisa immediately and placate her but I can't see them patching things up. Lisa is a much stronger woman, like Kelly last year. Trust me, if Brendan throws a real unreasonable strop I'll be the first one to shout: FOUL!

I distinctly remember him storming off after their Salsa

He did the same two years prior when partnered with Claire King.

Why?
This firm, Marque 2, has obviously decided that Brendan is only good enough to advertise their wares - but not good enough to join their exclusive clique Why should he do it if the rewards are so heavily in Marque 2's interests? They would get photos of a famous face to use as they wish for as long as they like and he gets a weekend with a posh car. It's a rubbish deal, so I see his point
It's his life not ours and it's not for us to tell him how to behave or earn money anyway.

I thought you were talking about tonight's ITT. He 'walked away' after the salsa, true. And that's horrible what he did. But at least he made it clear it wasn't Lisa he's angry about and Lisa surely didn't take it against him?

Otherwise, why would Lisa shouted in one of the training clip: Follow me, handsome boy! to Brendan???

Editing is a bit like cutting and pasting. Don't believe all that you see.
