I don't usually watch it but surprisingly I've been enjoying it lately. But if it is going to make me cry, I may stop watching!

I do like Brendan and enjoy watching him dance but I do think he gets the most out of his partners. He has an ego and plays up to Mr Nasty and I think he is extremely talented

OK back on topic!

Brendan DID storm off after the salsa - which upset Lisa at the time, they made it up after and he explained, but that doesn't excuse his shoddy behaviour by storming off after the girls first dance in the series where she is very nervous.

Then the blatently silly remarks about the scores on Saturday - all 8's are good scores it was only week 2 for the girls, what does he want? Blood

Brendan needs to lighten up and show more consideration - if he wants to only dance with professionals, then he shouldn't be on Strictly come Dancing in the first place.

Agree absolutely. Marque 2 made Brendan an offer - he felt he was worth more, and as was his prerogative it was an offer he could and did refuse.

I'd have done the same - wonder who leaked that little snippet to the papers.

As for him storming off after the salsa - it was insensitive and Lisa clearly thought he was disappointed with her. But he made it clear that wasn't the case, as Lisa herself confirmed. After all he wouldn't have complained of 'poxy 8's' if he'd thought Lisa performed badly.

I once saw the normally calm Anton storm off after the judges had been scathing of Kate - and she was left standing alone somewhat non plussed. Again he wasn't angry with his partner - probably felt if he stuck around he might say something he'd regret.

It's interesting how differently the two forums view Brendan.

I posted the same thread on the Beeb and amidst 27 replies, not one person came to his defence!

There are some really, REALLY nasty people there, my friend.

If you don't believe me, try posting something nasty about your favourite celeb/pro and you'll see the wolves howling around your thread ready to jump in!

I've been a regular there since last year mate

Nothing nasty about somebody criticising a celebrity or a pro. It's when they are rude to fellow posters that I have an issue with.

I wasn't a regular there. But most of the time I can't believe what I was reading. The forumites here are more human and humane. Granted you may get a troll sometimes, but they are very rare breed and often quickly laughed and lampooned off by us more seasoned posters.

You are entitled to your opinions, I respect that. I am not particularly a Brendan fan. In fact, I was very sick and tired of his ways last year. This year, his 'potty 8s' comments don't sit well with me, but I think he's at least trying to change his ways. So I am more ready to give him a benefit of doubt here.

If we really want to be critical, I think Erin was being very tough on Austin. He was clearly trying his best and begging to be relieved from his pain when Erin 'coldly' replied, "Did I hear the 'cant' word?'

Now that's not very nice, is it?

Call me old fashioned and sexist but I'm sure Austin can take a bit of stick off Miss Whiplash.

Brendan comes across very ungentlemanly. His partnerships never strike me as a team effort. It seems he only wants to get the best out of his partners so that he can shine. If they struggle, he gets frustrated and doesn't want to know.

Like I said, viewers form different impressions of people. The one I have formed of Brendan has been a culmination of his behaviour over the years. What I saw tonight was just the icing on the cake.

I'm sure Kristina and Lilia must be rather frustrated with their respective partners as they are not the most dynamic or agile dancers. But they remain positive and are encouraging and patient.

Brendan will never change.

It's like you are saying 'the leopard will never change its spots' (btw, the leopards' spot do change!).

I hope you are wrong, though, on this. I am still hoping Lisa's personality and Brendan's gf will tame him the right way. Call my an idiot, if you like, I am a romantic at heart...

I'm afraid you can't edit a person storming off (twice), complaining about the judges scores or what past contestents have had to say about the pro they worked with. These things actually happened.

lol I'd never call you an idiot - I reserve that label for Cole

I was hoping Brendan had turned over a new leaf this year. But it didn't last long. Only 4 weeks in and he's already criticised the judge's scores and his partner has already been abandoned during an interview and reduced to tears twice.

Not a very promising start.

Brendan hasn't always gelled with his partners; Sarah Manners springs to mind and certainly after Claire King left she let it be known that they didn't get on - but I thought he was encouraging and supportive of Fiona - and bless her, if anyone gave him cause for frustration it was Ms.Phillips.

He had his foot in his mouth several times already this year, hasn't he? But I hope he'd tasted the dog poo when he put his foot in his mouth (and from the ITTs he seemed 'embarrassed about his outbursts') and hold his 'trap' when he's about to explode again in the future.

I agree with all of that. Darren, Anton and a number of the girls have had less than ideal partners this year and yet all have been supportive and encouraging.

Contrast the attitude of Ian with Jodie to that of Brendan with Lisa and that's what stands out for me.

I'm not keen on Lisa , she comes across as a bit false for me, I never quite believe she's not constantly acting how she thinks she should, she doesn't seem to be able to turn off her 'celebrity' mode like most of them. Having said that, I think if she was with Mathew or Ian she may be more relaxed and have a bit more self belief.

But Sid, Rachel has cried, so did Jessie and Christine's shed a few tears; nothing to do with their partners, they're all supportive and encouraging - simply stress and frustration I think. They're trying so hard, putting in long hours, they're feet are killing them - so when they trip or forget a step it's little wonder their emotions get the better of them.

Admittedly Brendan is more emotional than the others seem to be - but I don't think it's always his behaviour that causes tears.

Remember James Jordan with his first partner Georgina Bouzova - he was awful to her; but this time round he's got the right partner; he and Cherie seem the perfect partnership and he's a changed character.

In absolute agreement about Lilia and Kristina backing their partners to the hilt - and one thing I admire about Erin is ability to tailor the training to her partner. When she gets a good 'un she pushes as hard as she can, but with the more self conscious i.e. Peter Schmeichel and Willie Thorne she was patience personified.

Hang on I was I watching a different ITT tonight - am confused exactly how he caused Lisa to storm out in tears. Yes she was upset but I think that was because she's tired and trying to learn a dance, she isn't the first Celeb to cry this year either.

Yes Brendan hasn't had the best of times with his partners before but perhaps he was giving Lisa some space.

As for the car thing I agree with what's been said - we want your face to help us but we don't want to let you in our club think I would have told them where to go too

If Brendan does leave my gosh the Brendan bashers will be board wonder who will get the grief then

Erin was teasing - there was a lot of warmth in her voice.

I think the training footage of Lisa and Brendan today could have been any of them. Setting aside judgements on character, as I don't know them, I do think Brendan has handled their first two dances badly in vote winning terms. That doesn't make him a bad person, but I do find it baffling after six series.

Oh God, I can't believe I'm about to do this after loathing the man for 5 series but...I have to stick up for him. He hasn't done anything wrong this series (yet) and I think he and Lisa have a great partnership. Can't wait for their American Smooth!

It's not the point of rehearsals for them to be fun all the time. This is hard work, and on here we're all very harsh on the celebs that don't put the hours in. Lisa and Brendan's hours are relatively high. They are bound to get tense a bit. I bet Lisa would rather be really good on Saturday than be treated with kid gloves.”

Exactly. The point is whenever Brendan's partner cries, people are more than happy to jump to the conclusion that Brendan is a bully. Whereas other celebrities cries, it's because of the stress and emotion and nothing to do with their partners. I think people who make the judgement here should reflect on their how they make the judgement and on what ground they based their judgement on.

BTW, to response to the title of this thread. Idiots are those who based on 20 seconds of the so called "evidence' that was taken completely out of context and jump to a conclusion. Remember how BBC edited the Queen's "storm out"?
