Why have Toshiba LCDs gone missing?

I have a Toshiba 32WLT58 which I bought a couple of years ago and have not had any problems with it.

I have been planning on buying my parents a new TV for xmas, and thought of a toshiba as my number one choice.

I have been looking at the 42 inch Full HD LCD (42XV505 or something like it), and because John Lewis offer 5 years guarantee, this is where I bought my TV from, and was going to buy one this time too. However, a couple of weeks ago, I noticed that this TV along with a few others disappeared from their and other retailers websites.

Does anyone know anything about this? Is it a removal of these products before a new line is released? Or, has there been a call back or something similar?

I would suspect at £750 they are flying off the shelfs

In octtobers What Hi-Fi it got 4 out of 5 stars and with the others in the test £1000 and above it did ok

put it in google

Dont know if it makes a difference but put in D at end 42XV505D

Tosh have just changed their range.

About 3mths ago I bought a 37XV505DB from Amazon for around £450 - reduced from £699

Their new range is xx XV 555 DB but prices are a little higher.

You can still get the XV505DB range, but stocks are getting low as the stores want rid of them now.

Take a look here to see the models and prices from a price finder site...
