D3XT3R
16-10-2008
Just noticed that my 20 month old Sharp Aquos TV has developed a black line going down the screen about 6" from the right hand side.It appears on all channels-HD,SD and freeview.Could any of you chaps point me in the right direction.Have posted a link to a picture of the problem.
Many thanks in advance D3XT3R

Just a quick update,it seems the line appears exactly where the 4:3 picture would end

Am I am right in assuming that you watch some material in 4:3 format and have the black space at the sides? if so it is likely some kind of screen burn. It can be fixed...

I don't think LCD's suffer from screen burn unlike plasma panels..... the pixel recovery programs might help, but more often than not they're designed to revive a pixel at a time (and success seems very limited) but chances are that the lcd panel has a fault

But if you want to try software to unstick stuck pixels there's this free one

I have just had the same thing appear on my Samsung Panel. Run your windows desktop through some solid colours to get a better look at it, mine only appears with some of the browner shades.

Still annoying.

Just a quick update, the TV has gone in for repair under the extended warranty(phew £65 seems good money now). They say it needs a new panel and if it costs too much then they will probably scrap it.i am now left with this for up to 2 weeks

In reply to stvn758 the same colours were affected on mine too.I tried using the dead pixel program but no good for this particular problem
