Yes (this bit of the post is because YES is not enough letters to post in a message? I practice economy, and I'm told to use extra letters).

Or, if you are Win98, Win2000, WinVista and not using IE, but Firefox, just press the F5 button for auto refresh and the annoying ad will disppear for a while.

Still it's irritating!

These adds are enough to put me off DS completely. What were they thinking?

The SUN has taken over them! What can we do?

I was hesitant to mention the 'jump to' tip because I was afraid they will pop something there in the future and it will drive me WILD!

Thanks! I was wondering whether we'd have to contact a moderator (or whatever) because it really is deeply annoying. Almost enough to make one go to the BBC threads ( almost, I said)

Oh my gosh yes! You don't visit DS for a few days and when you come back it's so stupidly irritating!

There's ads?

Must prove my Firefox ad blocked is doing its job because I see none!

Which version of Firefox are you using? Because I am using Firefox (version 3) too and those sleazy ads are there!

I'm using the latest version of Firefox and they're there at the top stopping me going back to the main thread. I've checked IE and it's the same.

Don't worry. You can defeat those silly ads! Just press F5 button and it will temporarily refresh and you can get back to the forum main page. Otherwise, go to the bottom of the page and look for the Forum Jump, click the pink 'Go' button and viola!

yup, annoying adverts getting in the way - what makes it worse is the distasteful gambling ones. Why, DS,why?

Typical DS. Jump down your throat about nothing, but quite happy to annoy the people who are effectively their customers.

finding it hard to get away from this thread now, so will stay here and moan for a bit - might just alert mods to my post while I'm at it . Seriously considering going and never coming back.

Sadly yes

Thanks for the tip SCD-O, they've been driving me mad all day

Edit: Just tried it and it didn't work - must get brother to look at computer and install something to stop them - bloody, bloody annoying, would say more but I'd end up banned!

Edit again: Tried again and it worked this time

Yes, since late last year, the Sun has bought over DigitalSpy. That's why all those 'new' in Digitalspy I normally don't take them seriously now...

If you don't already have it you need the ad block plus add on which you can find easily through google.

I managed to miss that news.... Now that I am aware of it, I fear that my days may be numbered, as a matter of principle Thanks for the info!

These ads are driving me crazy tonight - they're getting worse.

I think they're breeding.

Has anyone complained to the mods?

I'm fond of DS - but not of a Sun connection

Thank you! I have installed the ad block plus into my Firefox and have manually turned off that annoying ad for ever and ever! Yay!

Spoke too early! Just when I thought I got rid of one, the freaking BAA ad pops right in!
