Does anyone by any chance have a manual for this paticular model (or similar). My Brother has one and is trying to use the remote to control his tv as well as the vidoe but it is not responding at the moment - any ideas?

Thanks

There's usually a slide button ,at the top of most Sony remoe controls marked Video/TV.
When you want to control the video, slide it to video, when wanting to control the tv,slide it to TV.
What make TV are you wanting to control,as the Sony remote control, can only control some makes.

Thanks for that, I will pass on the information but have a feeling his TV is not a Sony and that he has tried that but it didn't work. Would it only work with a Sony TV then?

Could possibly be a trip out for a universal remoted!!

Thanks again for the reply

EDIT sorry - just noticed you said it only works with 'some' makes, not just Sony

Try these instructions, even though they are for the Sony DVD recorders, rather than the video recorders.

Unfortunately the instructions above didn't work. The TV is a Toshiba - does anyone have any other ideas?

I don't think the VCR remote is supposed to control any TV apart from a Sony one?. Some DVD ones do, but I don't remember any VCR ones - too old.
