Advice on Pan: 42's please
Dare I ask!
I'm after a Pansonic 42" T/V and have narrowed the choice down to PZ 80 or PZ 85 or PZ800. Would anyone be able to offer advice on the " best bang for the buck" Which offers offers the best attributes ,features etc I dont need Freesat as I hope to get Sky+HD soon or a Humax Box ,whichever is the better. Thanks |

If you're after "the best bang for the buck" you might look at the PX80 - how far will you be sitting from it?

85 & 800 are both better on pq than the 80 by a fair way. If you are running a home cinema system the 85 will be more than enough. If you have no home cinema the 800 is the best buy. The sound quality on the 800 is brilliant, as is the styling in my opinion. The 800 is in my living room but it would have been the 81 if I was using a good home cinema kt.

dvice on Pan: 42's please
Thanks guys (bobcar and skinj) much appreciated.
I sit about 8 to 9 feet away. My problem is , that some people say that that the PZ 80 is the one that I should go for. It has also had good reveiws and is a good price. Others say that the 85 is a better picture and as you have said and others also say that the 800 is better sound albeit about £400 more. I suppose it is probably half my own fault for not being able to work out the technical advantages and getting more confused as I hear different feedback Don't get me wrong , I much appreciate your input and advice,'cos you're much better informed than me. Thanks again. |

To be honest with that size TV and viewing distance you are unlikely to get any benefit from a 1080 TV. I would suggest you take a look at the different models from your viewing distance - you could save yourself some money.

Bobcar , thanks for coming back again but I thought that a 42" at 8 feet was supposed to be fine. Thats seems to be the overall opinion of others about viewing distances.

Sorry Bobcar, having rechecked my viewing distance it is virtually 9 feet 6 inches, not 8 feet as I first suggested.
Any encouragement you or anyone else can give me to go for an PZ 800B would be appreciated !! |
