I am fairly sure Simon knew the result of the public vote, so was he concerned that his announcing he fancied last week her had counted against her?
By refusing to save her, any accusations of his favouring her would go away?
Thoughts?

It crossed my mind.
By making her the clear underdog, he helps her.
I am not sure about her singing in Spanish too much though. She is going to come across gimmicky sooner or later.

Simon considers himself a judge who knows what he's talking about. Yet he deliberately plays down her performance. If that was Laura, he would have given her a standing ovation. I think it was tactical voting, I think he's afraid of her potential and tried to get rid of her. He so didn't care about the groups last week. He got rid of band lashes who are potentially a good bad. What's to say he is not trying to get rid of the competition to make it easier for his artists. He wants to win tactical voting is his only chance. Who knows what he's up to but imho he is NOT consistent and he's definitively NOT always right.

Agreed, but if you think Simon really cares about being the winning judge then I would disagree. He plays the part and enjoys competing, but I think if he does have favourites it has little to do with which group they are in, but more to do with how much money he can make from them and how easy they would be to work with.
