Firstly I just want to say that I thought the episodes were great but I just have one slight criticism.

Niall kept maintaining that if Myra did not choose which children she wanted to die, he would kill them all by pressing the button that would activate the church to explode. This is exactly what happened anyway, but the blast itself killed nobody. Tina was killed as a result of falling through the floor and a big rock crushing her. So Niall obviously wasn't that good at lining the church with explosives and it would never have killed them all.

I assumed that Niall never actually wanted any of them to die. Just wanted to terrify them. Probably completely wrong but I thought he just wanted them to feel completely alone like he has all his life.

Oh, maybe. I didn't really consider that Niall was bluffing.

Yet a large rock also falls on robo-myras legs and once its removed shes up and walking about like nothing of the sort had happened

I think the real question is where are these explosives coming from? Even Newt got his hands on some. Is there a Hollyoaks branch of Al-Queda willing to sell explosives to any numpty?

I'm guessing either Niall was bluffing or he hasn't got a clue about explosives and thought he had enough to kill whoever he wanted. Most of the McQueens seem to be bionic anyway. They were able to walk out of there with a broken leg or arm.

I think the bigger question should be when the hell did Naill gain the knowledge at rigging explosives? Surely wiring that and his little detonator box is not something you can do by having a quick Google or reading 'Explosives for Dummies'. Considering he was also wandering the streets kidnapping McQueens at the same time when did he get the time to rig it all on and kidnap people? It is not even as if he was planning weeks in advance either.

I have to say the carnage caused by the explosion didn't seem to make much sense as the explosion didn't look that big. How an earth could that explosion end up with Mercy landing god knows where and the floor caving in? It didn't look that big.

I don't think he was bluffing but I do wonder why he didn't just firebomb the whole place if he wanted to kill them all. Why use explosives? He would have looked a right numpty if he had pressed the switch and nothing had happened cause he had messed up.

Acting was great, lol, but the plot had holes you could drive a bus through.

The pigeons did look crap. If they had to have pigeons they should have just relaced the smashed glass with glass shaped like it's been smashed and then released real ones through it. Soaps should never do CGI, it rarely looks convincing.

My mum was all "Oooh the pigeons must symbolise each one of the McQueen children" until I explained there weren't enough pigeons for that.

Pigeons to win Best Newcomer at next years soap awards!!

What I would like to know is how did everyone who were tied up manage to suddenly be free of any ropes or whatever he used after the explosion? Their legs were tied too right? I can understand why Michaela and Tina were free as they weren't tied when he pushed the button, but Carmel, Jacqui, Myra and Mercedes weren't. I think only John Paul remained tied up just before the floor collapsed... yet somehow he managed to wriggle free both his feet and hands to whack Niall with a candlestick???

I won't even mention the CGI pigeons and debris!

I dont think he actually wanted to kill them. that wasn't his intentions

he just wanted to scare the hell out of them, and make them suffer

You'd be surprised at what you can find on the internet.

I assume JP came back with Niall without a struggle etc because he had to get back from Dublin through the airport? I assume he had his pasport on him? I know it's a soap...

That was such a cop out just to get rid of the actor quickly cos their is no way JP would have peed off & left his family like that!!

I don't think that the large slab was on myra completely because when JP and Niall slide it off it doesn't hurt her, i think its just pressing on her too much for her to move thats all.

Yes even so if that had hit her on any part of her legs she would struggle to walk- which she wasnt.
