Packed Lunch for Work
Every Saturday, when we do our weekly shop in Asda, me OH always asks what I want for lunch next week, and I always say ham n tomato sandwiches... but this annoys her, cause i always have the same thing.
Is it that bad having/wanting the samething each week? I like ham n tomato sandwiches! Nowt wrong with that is there? |

Maybe you should ask for Tomato and Ham just to confuse her.

Yes, but should'nt you vary your diet a bit more? Eating the same thing every day cannot be healthy, surely?

I have a packed lunch twice a week and the same old stuff usually goes in my lunch box too. There isn't really much to choose from that doesn't involve cooking in my house, so it's just sandwiches etc.

Does it even have to be a sandwhich? Pasta or rice salad, soup or stew in a flask, are all great alternatives.

Eat what you want. I wouldn't be averse to varying it occasionally though, if only to see if there's something you like even more.
I should really start eating lunch again... |

To be honest I don't mind whats in me sandwiches, or in me lunchbox at that.
If she didn't ask me what I want, and just got summat without asking, it wouldn't bother me! Its that when she asks me we always seem to be down the cold meat aisle!! Of course I have diffent flavoured crisps each day/week. along with maybe a bar of chocolate, yogart or a piece of fruit. |

My Dad took jam sandwiches to work practically every day for his whole career. My Mam was mortified and worried what his colleagues would think

When I was at school, I used to have tomato sandwiches and a packet of crisps, every day for 5 years. I still love tomato sarnies, they are lush!

When I used to take a packed lunch to work, I had the same sandwiches every day (cheese and marmite) along with the usual suspects; crisps, fruit, etc
Sometimes Monday was different, some cold meat from the Sunday roast. I loved them, my mum would always ask if I wanted somthing different but it was almost like comfort food, if I had had a crap morning I knew I had my favourite sarnie waiting. |

My mum used to put leftover roast beef on mine.
Sometimes it was so tough, it was inedible. But I soon learned to eat it or dump it; if it was left in the lunchbox, I'd find I had it for lunch again the next day, bite marks and all! Much preferred tomato sarnies. |
