What do you eat on toast?
This cold weather is making me fancy some comfort food- cheesy beans on buttered toast!!
As a lunch/dinner, it's either tinned spaghetti or cheesy beans on toast, and if it's breakfast time, marmite on buttered toast. Lovely. What do you have on your toast? |

Mini fry up, layered.
Thick toast, butter, bacon, egg, beans, cheese As a snack it's usually jam or marmelade. Getting into peanut butter lately as well. |

I love flat mushrooms microwaved and then put on toast with some marmite or pesto.
I also like raw cheese like the Dutch. |

2 slices with margarine - tin of tomatoes on both, with a fried egg on one and a couple of sausages on the other. Plenty of pepper, and lashings of Daddies Sauce

Ooh, how could I forget mushrooms? For me, they've gotta be fried in olive oil, put straight on the toast so the butter melts just a little bit and then smothered in lashings of vinegar
![]() Another one is fried halloumi, though I haven't indulged in that in a long time. Fried bleu d'auvergne sandwich was another popular one for me last century. |

For sweet snacks...........black treacle
Been on the lemoncurd recently........ I like jam but I never eat it fast enough and it always goes off before the jar's half empty...........treacle seems to last forever............. For more substantial food i like to make my own 'pizzas' with white bread..........grated cheese, tomato, olives, salami, chilli sauce, olive oil, pepper...........mixed in a bowl and spread on the bread and toasted........ |

Not sure where I got this from, probably my old Nan - but I love M&S tinned stewing steak on toast.
Sounds a little unappealing, but on thick buttered white toast, it's serious Winter comfort food. |

I usually eat chocolate spread on toast or sometimes scrambled egg. My dad laughs about it but I like the stuff because I can't stand butter (even the smell makes me feel sick lol) or jam.

Never have halloumi on toast, just in pitta with salad or with a salad. I have peanut butter, butter, marmite, marmalade, jam, tartex mushroom spread, bel paese, cheese on toast, poached eggs, beans - nothing unusual.

Scrambled egg is my absolute favourite, but I'm very fond of toast and jam.
I like toast with cheese, but not where the cheese is toasted, as has been mentioned. Also I am a big fan of mashing up a tin of sardines and toasting that on top of the toast Or toast with a scraping of pesto on it, then sliced tomato, all toasted. |
