Hes on now, i feel a little sorry for him.
Is this his first interview since the verdict? It comes across that way, he just wants to explain himself.

Awww there was a few moments where it seemed like he was about to get a tear in his eye. Glad to hear people supported him during his trial.
It would be great if he did go back to emmerdale.

My heart went out to him, he looks broken, I hope he can get his life back on track. Yes he was naive and foolish, but that doesn't mean someone has the right to ruin someone else's life.

Good luck to him.

I felt really sorry for him and it is not right that the girl can continue to have anonimity. Name and shame that it was I say. I was never a fan of his in the past but I really wish him well and hope that he can pick up his career and move on. I hope the girl is feeling guilty for what she has done.

The poor young man looked broken and exhausted obviously. I really admire the fact that he is not angry and said that he girl just said something and couldn't retract it, he said he had no recriminations. Not sure i could be so generous if someone did the same to me or a meber of my family. I hope he gets his life back on track. He deserves it

To be honest he is probably better off being dignified. He will gain alot of support that way rather than being angry.

he may not have raped her but he knew she was a 16 year old school girl who was a 'fan' on hols with her parents, who wanted her to meet a soapstar, not have sex with one..... easy sh*g for him....
he shouldve had a little bit of sense...

but im sure he'll be fine. and no he didnt derserve two years of this..

i worry about girls who really may be hurt by someone slightly famous, and will now be too scared to report it for fear of being slaughtered by people... i bet theres been 'famous' people who've got away with it for being 'famous'.

You are probably right that he should have had more sense and he has admitted that. However, this was a case of a girl who cried rape when it clearly didn't happen. The photographer was a key witness to this. The problem is this type of girl does not help the genuine ones that have been raped.

I havent seen the interview but will hopefully get to see it on youtube, i feel really sorry for ben freeman and his family, his life has basically been ruined forever and unfortunately there are too many girls/women out there who are so quick to cry rape, that he is not the first and won't be the last.

Even tho the jury has cleared him there are thousands of people out there who will always think of him as a rapist and a monster, no innocent man deserves that.
I think he should be thankful that there was a witness there who could support his story and is so lucky to have that witness where others may not have and have been wrongly convicted of such an awful crime.

We can never know the full story but i genuinely believe he is innocent, he made a mistake by sleeping with someone so young and maybe should have thought about the consequences first - but he could never have known what would follow and certainly did not deserve it.

in all honesty how many of us HAVEN'T slept with the wrong person?? we are only fortunate that that person hasnt made our lives a misery in the aftermath.

Ben has maintained his dignity throughout and i hope he can go on to live a good life and put this awful business behind him, he has my full support.

I read an interview in the Sunday Mirror where he admitted that he was stupid for sleeping with a 16 year-old girl. His defence for the trial ended up costing him over £200,000. His house is now mortgaged to the hilt.

Well lets hope he gets some TV work quickly. There seems to be alot of support for him on the forum and hopefully the TV producers will not snub him because that will send out a message that they think he was guilty.

I've just watched it on the this morning website. I think he came across really well - extremely genuine and I hope that he can get his life back together. I would love him to come back to Emmerdale as well

I've also just watched it on the This Morning website. Here's the link in case anyone needs it:

http://www.itv.com/thismorning/

Poor bloke, he seemed shattered, and really shaken up by it all, not surprisingly.

He said he can understand why Emmerdale terminated his contract, which is very magnanimous of him, but personally I don't think they should have done - legally, someone is innocent until proven guilty, so even before the trial, he was legally innocent (as well as actually innocent). It seems so unfair that he lost his job and went through so much because of one stupid girl making false allegations.

If by any chance that girl's reading this, I hope she realises now what she's done - and that every time someone makes a false allegation, it makes things harder for real victims.

As for Ben, I would love him to get his job at Emmerdale back; I just hope he can get his life back together now and be happy.

your post reads like you still blame him and not the silly school girl who couldnt keep her legs closed and was more scared of her parents than ruining a young man and his family's life

she should be named and shamed, she should be made to publicly apologise to him

this kind of girl does not help the cause of real rape victims

Just watching it now and I really feel for Ben, you can tell he is so innocent and it was the girls Stepmother that approached Ben in the first place!!! he has lost EVERYTHING for this stupid little girl, she should be named and shamed the silly little tart!!!!!
All I can see is that this girl has obviously gone back to her mother and told her and the pound signs have been flashed in her eyes thinking how much money they can make from the back of this story, the poor guy I really hope he sorts his life out I can see he has a lot of support from fans!
