advice on connectiong surround sound to new tv
just bought a new hd ready tv so can watch blu ray's on my ps3 (using hdmi port from ps3 to tv) and i have a surround sound system which worked on my old tv but cant get any sound out of it on my new tv. would anyone have any advice on how i can fix this issue. tv and surround sound have the usual input/output minus optical input.

has the telly got optical out or phono connections out ?
with a PS 3 you might want a HDMI 1.3 amp |

tv has S/PDIF, YpBPr, SUBWOOFER OUT, VIDEO IN/OUT, BAV, HDMI, SCART x2 . no optical on tv.
Surround has SCART x1, YpBPr, AV IN, VIDEO IN/OUT, DIGITAL AUDIO OUT, AUDIO IN/OUT. Last edited by chanandlerbong : 20-10-2008 at 17:49. Reason: add more on |

have sky+ connected to surround and it works.
PS3 has HDMI, OPTICAL and AV Surround is Wharfedale DVD 5.1 but use it as surround sound on sky+ as well as DVD player can get sound through sky+ but try connecting to tv but no sound coming out. TV Model Acoustic Solutions LCD26762HDF |

you say scart on amp plus AV? I take it you meant they are the same?
need exact model of all in one surround dvd player |

To convert this player to Multi-Region: Open drawer | Press: 8, 1, 3, 2 and 8 | Display shows: Region Code 2 | Press Enter key 5 times until code is changed to 9 | Press Play (or Setup to save & quit) | Player is now multi region

think it will need to be scart to phono out lead you need if PS3 allows that with HDMI connected
so scart on PS 3 to phono in on your dvd player think when your telly connected with HDMI from PS3 it wont allow scart out, and only some tellys allow AV switching.....e.g AV 2 in to AV 1 out thats the problem you face and a dedicated AV amp may help you like this at £250 http://www.eu.onkyo.com/products/pro...8_5875886.html |
