I've seen various messages on various boards about tranfserring music from itunes on one pc to another (ie work to home etc) but there's so much info out there, plus the problem I have is one I have not seen.

In short -

I have a 4GB Ipod which is almost full, and is registered to my work PC/work ITunes. Thought would be a good time to dig out all my old CD's (of which there are hundreds) and upgrade to one of the new 120/160GB Ipods, while also keeping the stuff I already have on the 4GB Ipod.

Anyway, I go away for a bit and someones been doing some hot desking on my work PC and has clearly got some virus or mucked up somewhere.Itunes has been deleted from my work PC ( no, songs were not backed up ) and for love nor money it cannot be re installed.

Have put ITunes on my home PC now and obviously when I plug in my Ipod it says it's already regsitered elsewhere.

So I have this Ipod with all these songs on which I want to extract and put on my home PC before I start adding all the other CD's from my collection I have earmarked.

Any decent suggestions (bear in mind I am not techno-savvy at all so please avoid being too techinal if at all possible !! )

Much appreciated any help you can offer.

Cheers all !!

Have a look here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compari..._iPod_managers

Which will show you most of the programs capable of syncing with an iPod.

If you look at the "Transfer Features" table, I *think* (sure and iPod person will confirm) that it's the "Extract DRM-Free Music" feature you're interested in.

I've used MediaMonkey before to copy music from an iPod back to the PC before so that should work if nothing else does. Dunno if it would be able to copy iTunes bought music (as it has DRM).

Anything bought from the iTunes Store can be transferred using the option "Transfer Purchases from iPod" when you've attached the iPod to your home PC....
