My grandparents have bought a 42" philips aurea LCD tv. They want to display jpg images on it e.g. paintings when it is not in use as the tv has a USB connection. However, having put some on a memory stick and plugged that into the tv it shows them up really small and it won't let me zoom. I presume I will need to resize the pictures but does anyone know what size the pictures will need to be to fit the screen?

any help in this area much appreciated

thank you

Nikki

My guess is the native resolution of the TV, pardon me while I google in another window...

Phew! What a scorcher! (what a price too)

The specs say: 1920 x 1080 since it's full HD.

Obviously that's a "widescreen" shape (16:9) so the original photos may have to be cropped (top and bottom) otherwise there will be black bars on either side when displayed on the TV.

A photo that is 1024 x 768 should be cropped to 1024 x 576, and then resized to 1920 x 1080.

Basically 1024 divided by 16 = 64

64 x 9 = 576.
