Does anyone else feel for Dannii?
Cheryl is heading to number 1 thanks to X Factor with this single http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=S76h0ZpTXbg
Yet Dannii's single Touch Me Like That (which in my opinion I think is better) http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=cwbl807gX50 Didn't even make the top 40. If Simon or Louis say well done to Cheryl for getting to number 1 on Saturdays live show I'm going to feel so bad for Dannii.

Here we go again
It was Dannii's choice not to promote the song. |

Better wait until the Beautiful People ep with the Minogue sisters duet, and the soundtrack release...she could be successful this year yet

It was Dannii's choice not to promote the song. Being on X Factor alone should have sent her into the top 40 at least. This must make her feel so bad. |

I feel sorry for all the bad press Dannis getting..not to mention Rachel is completely walking all over her...
![]() The singles not bad. She sounds EXACTLY like Kylie in it haha. But you know - she is successful as a judge and tv host and stuff so its not as if shes a failure by any means |

I dont as I get the feeling that music is not the bee all and end all to Dannii. Becuase if it was she would be doing the rounds to promote it. plus for a lot of artists it not all about being number 1 as just making music alone make then happy.

Maybe it's because judges were told not to advertise themselves on the show. Dannii never once mentioned her single on the X Factor, but of course Cheryl gets to judge AND promote hers. Also. Dannii only went on about 2 TV shows and received zero radio play.
No promo = flop, sadly. Shame, because I love Dannii's single! |

seriously some people talk alot of crap Rachel hasn't said a bad thing about Dannii and vice versa. As for sounding like Kylie. It's frightning how many don't know how Dannii sounds like. And its even more frightning how many Kylie fans don't know what Kylie sounds like. When the clip of their duet 'The winner takes it all' came out, many thought it was Dannii singing when it was only Kylie with backing vocals of Dannii. I was a fan of Kylie before knowing about Dannii and I know her voice well. They do not sound very much alike at all. |

Dannii the pop star is so over.
The Promise getting to number one is the public letting Cheryl know how much they love her. Dannii is simply not as popular. |

The promise getting to number one is not just down to Cheryl Cole, it is down to the other girls and the writers and stylists. I have to laugh when people claim Girls Alouds' song going to number one is down to Cheryl alone
![]() As for Dannii, she has had her fair amount of success with music, but prefers being on TV to singing now. She is still a successful woman |

Dannii just needs to make Put The Needle On It II. Actually, the whole Girl era was pretty amazing too. Basically less crap like Pefection and Touch Me Like That, more Disremembrance.

The Promise getting to number one is the public letting Cheryl know how much they love her. Dannii is simply not as popular. I think Danni has completed her rein in her pop career and I cant see her having a number one single now. A few years ago she was entering in the 10 tens with her dance hits, with one entering at no2. Danni has been in the music industry for over 10 years and has had a massive gaps in between. Plus she has forever been in her sisters shadow. It's very rare that you have artists that have a continious cycle of sucess for that long. I cant see Girls Aloud passing the 10 year mark and still having hits. When its over, they'll know its over. It's the way it goes with alot of pop groups. As for The Promise getting to number one, I'd say that's a group effort, not the public letting Cheryl know they love her. Its not all about her and listening to all of them sing on Saturday, she was definatly the weakest. Of course her stint on the x-factor has helped thier cause. Thier is no denying that. For the record though, I do like thier new single. Back to what the OP is saying, no I dont feel sorry for Danni because of Girls Alounds success in the charts. Girls Aloud are still at the peak of thier career and inevitably get top 5 hits, on the backing of X-factor or not. Danni not so much anymore. I do feel for Danni but that's to do with the bad press and fame hungry celebrities having pops at her every week. People seem to forget that its this very woman who had a winner last year and another as a finalist. |

I think you will find that getting to number 1 is not all that there is to music. A lot of great acts and band are about longativity. Dannii has been doing albums for 17 years and is still liked all over the world. Now the question is will GA be still doing albums after 17 years? IMO I dont think so |

Well, it's certainly more unlikely that a solo artist will split up with themselves, yes...

IMO I dont think so Dannii will not stop making music, and who knows if she will get back to the top. The point is that she's doing what she loves and that's something I admire her for. She's the last person I would pitty. Instead I feel sorry for these 'love me' needing celebs who just do anytihng for fame. |

The charts next week have Girls Aloud's Greatest Hits entering again as well as their last album. I don't know how but people are buying Girls Aloud records in droves. And their song is outselling Pink 2 to 1!

I'm sure Dannii won't be losing too much sleep after Cheryl made such a fool of herself with her attempt at singing live on Saturday.

I feel sorry for Dannii, she's is successful on the X Factor, her music might not be as successful as Kylies, but neither have better singing skills than the other. Still every attention seeking celeb says something mean about her, probably because they are jealous.

What is it about Conk Cole's fans that makes them think most people like her? |

All I Wanna Do is in fact one of my favourite ever records. This is why I have a soft spot for Dannii. What you have to remember about Girls Aloud is that first up there are five of them, 2nd, they are aimed at a different market to what Dannii's music is/was. So two sets of fans equal two different things. Cheryl's appearence has helped the group and people would be mad to say otherwise but The Promise has come out at just the right moment and cashed in on a lack of pop in the charts. At the end of the day it's always been about timing. If Dannii had been given Can't Get You Out Of My Head instead of Kylie then she would have had the exact same success with it. And whatever people say about Dannii was and still is the Queen of the dance charts. |
