Don't know if I can muster EVERY day, but I'll try

Sleep wise was great last night - we took him upstairs, set his bed up in the corner of the room near the radiator, put him in his bed, and then got in ours and put the light out; he was quiet straight away, but about five minutes later I heard the patter of tiny feet around our bed, then stopped at Mrs C's side... then nothing.... still nothing..... so I got up and put the lamp on, and there he was lying next to Mrs C's side of the bed looking at me as if to say "and you are up for what reason?"

I moved his wee bed to just in front of Mrs C's bedside cabinet, he got in it, went to sleep and we heard nothing from him from around ten until three - he woke up (a wee bit chilly I think just before the heating came back on) for no more than ten minutes, a few wee whines, then back to sleep til we got up at half five. Good as gold.

Can we all adopt him? He can be the 'DS puppy', like the dogs on Blue Peter!

Sorry!!! I've been working all weekend, so getting very little PC/DS time. Smudge has settled right in now, and is now a bag of beans (literally, if the whiff he kept dropping this afternoon was anything to go by! ); he is getting really confident, but there is still quite a bit for him to learn - toilet training is going reasonably well during the day, but not so well at night (we'll get there though).

Anyway, I don't have many photos, but here are a few:

Playing with daddy

Who? Me?

I'm adorable, honest!

He just melted our hearts, and is even settling in quite well - wee bit of a sleepless night last night, but not too bad considering it was his first night.

He is a Jack Russell/Chihuahua cross - should be an interesting mix ”

I love that mix. I always said if I got a dog that's what I wanted.

Your little puppy is adorable!

Think the mods might have something to say about that (although DS could stand for Doggy Smudge )

Toilet training is going quite well, he has figured out that the pad by the back door is the place to pee, and when he has done one on there, he now comes to us as if to say 'where's my praise?' - all we need to do now is get the pad to migrate outside, and then get him to move it all together.

One wee problem, he has taken to pooing during the night, which is on the carpet in the bedroom - this means that we are up at least once a night cleaning up behind him. If we have him upstairs, he has to be shut in our room, in case he falls down the stairs (too steep for him yet), and if we leave him alone downstairs he breaks his wee heart and won't settle. We've tried taking a pad upstairs with us, but he still uses the floor. Anyone got any suggestions?

And to keep the photo collection going......

We had the exact same problem but my husband is a terror for falling asleep on the sofa so until my puppy could manage the stairs hubby slept downstairs with Bailey. Mind you now he is big enough for the stairs when it's time for bed, if hubby is asleep I whisper bed to Bailey, and me, the dog and one of my cats have a double bed all to ourselves.

I'm not usually a fan of small dogs but FC, he is gorgeous!

A friend of mine has a mini Jack Russell with the same colours, and she's one of the only small dogs I like.

Beautiful puppy

Its funny you should say that Zoe, because I'm more of a big dog person, having had Labradors, Retrievers, German Shepherds etc, and the smallest dog I've had was a Jack Russell - this wee fella was just too cute for us not to bring home, and he has really become part of the family.
