Sony Gigajuke system....
I have been looking around for months on end at all in-one systems and I seem drawn to the new Sony Gigajuke system which has an 80GB hard drive to store all your music. Due to several PC crashes and losing music In the past, I think this may be a safer alternative to store all my 4000+ tracks as oppose to risking further losses by storing them on just my PC.
The system is £299.99 from most outlets (£250 from Empire Direct) of which seems very reasonable for what the system offers which is CD/FM/DAB tuner/ Ipod dock/USB flash drive socket and of course the advantage of an 80Gb hard drive. Having heard the system many times (and being picky here) - the audio quality is pretty much standard for this system and not as good as cheaper models such as Yamaha/ Denon etc...of which only offer CD/FM/DAB - But I can live with that because of what the system offers for the price tag. My main concern is how easy (or difficult) it is to transfer tracks to the in-built hard drive from CD or the USB input? If anyone has this specific system I would be most grateful for any advice or tips on transfering tracks to the hard drive and adding track names/dates/library order etc... before I decide to buy as the system looks rather complex. (sorry guys...I do love the gadget show...but I'm useless when it comes to the practical stuff)

How have you lost the tracks from previous PCs?
If the music is that important then is there any particular reason why you haven't invested in a network hard drive as storage for you're music and file backup for data? |
