Hi all.
It's time to upgrade my camera to something a bit more serious! A recent holiday has shown the limitations of my trusty F450 a little, and I want to upgrade now.
The thing is, as appealing as getting a DSLR is, I'm by no means a super-enthusiastic photographer. I like to go out on the odd weekend to take pictures of ducks, trees, mountains and clouds etc. and so the expense of a DSLR seems a little extravagant.
Until I get to the point where I decide whether or not to take up photography as a more serious hobby, would I be better in getting a 'bridging' cam like the s9600 rather than dishing out loads for a 400D with all the associated paraphenalia?
To the non-professional eye, would there really be that much difference in picture quality?
