Sharp HD TV switching off

Does anyone know why a TV should intermittently switch itself off? The set has been checked out by Sharp-but of course it never does it when the engineer is here. Its only about once a week on average, but then again it can happen twice in one day, then go for, say 2 weeks before it does it again.
Its NOT connected with any other switching on or off. Thanks.

Need more info before we can advise...

model?
what's connected?
does it switch off while you are watching or when you are out of the room?
does it switch of when something else happens - i.e. open the curtains, change sky channel, use a PC, when the freezer switches on?
is it plugged in to it's own wall socket or to an extension with other things?
what else have you done to isolate the problem?

add any other info that you think might be relevant

Its a Sharp LC 42xd1e, fed by V-box, i noticed that it has a "auto switch off if no signal recieved after 6 mins" and i have now set this to "Off" a few day ago, so this might cure it.
Can a fridge in another room do this? Ta
