Which dance was most unappreciated by the judges - and which was most over-rated?

My votes go to Louisa and Vincent's fab paso doble, which scored a measly 34 - I can't believe my all-time favourite got no tens!

Most over-marked IMO was John Barnes' and Nicole Cutler's salsa - John was very stooped throughout but Len still gave it 10!

overmarked has to be Emma and Darren's feral kitten paso doble - complete with tittarubba

undermarked I'll need to think about some more...

Len said on ITT last year that he gave John and Nicole's Salsa a 10 because he thought it was better than something that he gave a 9 and wanted to show that... therefore he said that it wasn't perfect just better than something that he rated as 9.

Lastweeks leaderboard is a candidate for the criminally overmarked and undermarked...

Rachel, Austin and Lisa were all overmarked IMO

Jodie and Christine were undermarked

Overmarked: Bruno's perfect 10 for Kelly and Brendan's American Smooth! Bruno's is a joker here!!!

Two of the most seriously undermarked were Aled's Tango and Paso both in the semifinal of series 2, deliberately undermarked .

Overmarked , Emma's pasodoble for starters ; many of last year's dances were overmarked .

Matt and Flavia's Waltz - wasn't even the best waltz of the series, let alone ever

Alesha and Matt's AS (they were overmarked on the cha cha though)

Undermarked- I agree on Aled's Tango- 27?! It would easily get in the high thirties now.

Overmarked- ... where to start?! My vote to Gethin's Jive or Matt DA's Waltz I think.

Overmarked Matt DA's waltz - I agree with all of you who say that. No way was it good enough for four tens.

No sure about Undermarked yet.

Ooh- another thought for most overmarked- Fiona's Rumba: 6/10 from Len! Given that he freely goes down to 5/10, and has marked as low as 3/10 for a really appalling dance, what was he thinking?

Edit: And that leads me to Matt and Flavia's Foxtrot actually! 8/10?

Most overmarked: There's a lot of candidates but the top ones for me are Matt and Flavia's waltz, John's 10 for salsa, Lisa and Brendan's AS, Kelly and Brendan's AS and not forgetting the Bunton's paso *shudder* Oh and Matt and Flavia getting 8s from Bruno and Len for the hideous foxtrot. Gethin and Camilla's jive.

Most undermarked: Louisa's paso is the only one I can think of off the top of my head.

Len and Bruno are the criminals in this overmarking business!

Case in Point:

Len's 8/10 for Matt DA's disaster of a Foxtrot AND
(if I recall properly) his 8/10 for Matt DA's disaster of the Samba!

Also, his ridiculous perfect score of Gethin's Jive (Austin and Tom this year would have EASILY danced a better and more technically correct routine than him) and Paso!!!

Bruno's 10 for Kelly and Brendan's AS

AND! Emma's tittarubba in a Paso!!! *shudders*

Undermarked (not sure about criminally undermarked, however):

Alesha's AS last year.
And arguably, Tom's AS (!) this year. I think it should be 4 nines instead.
Of course, to add Louisa's Paso too!

ah well going by that, then the Ramps AT - how Craig did you not give that a 10 but you gave 10 to Matt D for his waltz. Explain to me how that works!

I'm not sure about criminally undermarked since it was only one point, but I think every one of the dances that scored 39/40 could reasonably have had 40/40... Craig (and Len, for Alesha's Waltz) is so tight sometimes!

I think that may have been a case of vainly hoping to put Emma at the top of the leaderboard, as that was the only way she had a shot of being in the final!

That's a good point. I still don't understand why Craig did not give Mark's AT a ten. Which actually helps in my arguement about Tom's slightly undermarked AS this year.

Overmarked without a doubt Matt and Flavias waltz. How on earth did that deserve a 40 It wasnt even the best dance of SCD last year nevemind the best waltz ever.
