Girls Aloud - Jump

I've just heard Girls Aloud new single 'Jump', a cover of The Pointer Sisters song.

It's rather good! I'm not sure who produced it, but they've done a fantastic job on it (apart from the lame fade). It certainly has the feel of a number one record, unless they're 'so last month' already!

I heard it this morning on the radio, I thought it was quite good too. The production is very good on this remix.

Why do they want to do 80's cover all of a sudden (Girls On Film was the double A side to Life Got Cold) Their album of origional material is good enough without doing dodgey 80s songs.

I really like Girls Aloud. No Good Advice is an xlnt song!

They have a very 80's pop feel to them.

You make a good point in fact when I first heard No Good Advice I pointed out to one of my freinds that it is very 80s sounding and he agreed. The rest of the album is much more up to date. I just dont think they should be going down that well trodden covers road. Boyzone did enough of that!

Have you heard the track My Sharona by The Knack? Listen to it and then try to convince me that that's not where No Good Advice came from

I like a lot of Girls Aloud's stuff, not sure they need to do covers yet though - apart from B-sides. Apparently they also did a cover of Blondie's Hanging on the Telephone - anyone know if that's true?

Girls Aloud are going to appear on a Grease Tribute show and they do a cover of 'Hopelessly (sp) devoted to you' (I think thats the right song)

The Spencer Davis group song 'Gimme song loving' (1960's)
is 'My Sharona' is 'No good advice'.

Well to be fair, the rythym is, all three have a different melody line though.

The fact is there better then alot of stuff around, and they are the best thing to come out of a reality show!

True, better Girls Aloud than Atomic Kitten, Clea, Hear'say, Jennifer Ellison etc... I could go on.

As to being the best thing to come out of a reality show - maybe, but Liberty X are up there with them.

You mean Cheryl "Thug lovin'" Tweedy?!
Pretty in a very conventional way... Got a great figure though, and I must admit I was rooting for her when I watched the Final for the girls!! (Eyes over talent when it comes to girl bands )
