Have been considering buying a Tosh XDE500 which is supposed to enhance standard DVDs to near HD quality and is the next best thing to blu-ray (sic) at half the cost.

It seems to be receiving mixed reviews some rave about it - anyone out there bought one if so what do you think of it?

From what I have seen & heard it's a bit of a white elephant & did not live up to expectations, you would be better off getting hold of a HD player, great upscaling & added bonus of lots of HD DVD's at a knock down price (at the moment)

are there any good/cheap ones still on sale
or would ebay be the only option
