Hi all,

Just been looking in comet at 2 new tellys.

1st one i saw was a LG 47"

http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/pro...13/LG-47LG5020

2nd one was a Samsung 40"

http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/pro...ification#spec

Now i watched both playing the same HD demo and both looked great but imo the LG looked better.

I realise the LG isnt 100hz but from what i saw i couldn't tell the difference.

The fact the LG is cheaper yet bigger made me like it more

So, which one do i get lol

Go with gut instinct. Otherwise you'll be kicking yourself for second-guessing your first impressions.
I would however suggest going and seeing them display a live Freeview broadcast on BBC to see the pq then. Most sets give a great image on HD but only the better onse make SD look good.

Around that price have a look at the sony KDL40W4000. Its better than the two you have mentined. The KDL40W4500 is also very good.

I'd agree... the 40w4000 Sony has got some great reviews as well as the cheaper 40v4000... I've been really pleased with my 32w4000.... I'm far more impressed with it than I thought I'd be (I was a rather die hard CRT fan and failry certain I woulnd't be that happy with an LCD)

Check out the AVForums for tons of opinions from owners.
