If it was shot earlier, maybe they didn't have time to re-shoot it. But was it definitely pre-recorded? They went to a break immediately afterwards so there could easily have been a costume change then.

Hell, I would've paid to see that!!! Then think "aye aye, something's a bit fishy here".

To be fair, I didn't notice the first time around (in fact I thought they were singing live ) but watching it back it's quite funny, especially Austin looking really confused. They must've just got gestures from stagehands pointing at people and telling them to sing... sorry, mime the next bit.

Bit of positivity out of that song though. Tonight was the first time that I actually thought Eoghan is quite good (not good enough to win but good nevertheless) and when he and Diana closed the "Hero" song, it occured to me how much I would love to hear a Diana and Eoghan duet. I mean their voices complement each other and they apparently have a close friendship in the house which would add to them having good chemistry with each other. Just a thought anyways.

why bother to change out of her dress though - nobody else did did they?
to change into that horrid top and skirt, only to change back to her dress for the results.
Maybe it was a last minute thing

I was wondering why Laura and Austin to an extent had so much to do in it....never occured to be that it wasn't their part

They were all in different outfits weren't they ? All in white for Hero and back to the big band stuff for the results.

I thought quite a few (if not all) of them had different clothes on.

Everyone changed to white for the performance did they not?

I'll let Laura off then. I thought she was miming terribly on one bit, must've been Ruths. Eoghan has no excuse though. I knew they were miming straight away because he was so bad at it with his opening lyrics, shortly followed by Girlband singing in tune. I knew something was up.

Yep, it was immediately obvious from Eoghan's opening that he was miming - his mouth wasn't in time with the words at all.

LOL at your Girl Band comment!

But seriously, isn't it slightly worrying that only one out of the three of them was smart enough to realise that there might be another entry to the stage? I mean, imagine paying £60 to see Madonna only for her to stand behind a jammed door for 2 hours when there are obviously other ways to get onto the stage.

In which case Rachel must have used a swift kick to the back of the head to them, then trampled over their prostrate bodies just incase they held her up from getting airtime.

Regardless of the song (which I liked) I thought the best part was when it showed the faces of the "heroes" - the army guys sitting there, one guy in particular. Can you imagine having a song recorded for your charity. If I was one of those buys and had lost all my limbs I'm not sure I'd want to go on living yet having a show such as xfactor record something for me (and others in the same predicament) would be amazing.

Yes. Nothing says "sincerity" more than fame-seeking singers singing what they are being told to sing the song by the people they are relying on to give them that fame with the possible threat of being kicked out if they refuse.

What's interesting about that is I wondered where Ruth was but didn't even notice Daniel wasn't there...

There were actually all miming - the singing was all far too flawless - even from both girlbands.

Austin and Laura looked like they were about to shit themselves when they had to mime for parts they clearly hadn't rehearsed for.

I dont think Rachel was stuck behind the door.

Simon said Daniel and Ruth were stuck behind the door and Rachel appeared the right time and sang all her bits.

I dont think all the overs were meant to come out together.

That's probably right. It's not like all the others came on in their respective categories.

Ruth and Daniel were probably stopped from going onto the stage by the crew once the door didn't open. Otherwise it would have looked mental and unprofessional with them running on out of nowhere! Loads of people wouldn't have even realised if Cowell hadn't brought it up (can you imagine him raging about it backstage!)

Diana looks like she's thinking "omg alex, you sound just like Ruth" lol. She's so cute

No doubt they all felt awkward as hell having to mime, then to go on and have the kind of problems they had -- no doubt they felt embarrassed.
