I'm getting a Sony KDL40W4000 set in a few weeks.

At the minute I use a very cheap 720p set and wondered if my PS3 will automatically update its Blu-Ray Disc and Video settings when I connect the new tv (I will also be buying a 1.3 HDMI cable)

At the minute some of the settings are on Automatic or set to off.

Just want to make sure I am taking advantage of the much improved set and x.v. colour etc.!

no you can have it all set to automatic and it still wont work like that

you will need to set the PS 3 to 1080 p

you may find a Star Wars disc and the THX set up in iy helpful. Turn down brightness, contrast and colour all down to about 50% ; as they will all be set tosettings for testing in the factory

its really personal settings , but its a good starting point and you can play about with settings to suit yourself

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean, should I have the settings in each section on Automatic or manually set them myself?
