My EZ45 has got completely stuck in a U61 loop.

The problem started when trying to record onto a Phillips DVD+RW ( The Panny does seem very fond of +RW's generally)

I had to use the ^ + stop keys to get the disc out and now nothing I try will cure the problem (Including leaving it unplugged all night.)

The first EZ45 I had had the same problem but as it was still under guarantee at the time I exchanged it.

Anybody had this problem and solved it?

I have just had exactly the same problem. I can't solve it.
What did you do in the end?

I've discovered on another forum that the problem is very likely something to do with a faulty capacitor in the power supply. Question is, is it worth paying to have it fixed?

My EZ27 had a U61 error while under guarantee, with the same symptoms.

The repair company only replaced the ram-drive, and the error disappeared.

Your best bet would be to look out for a cheap faulty unit with a non drive related error, as a new ram-drive is way overpriced.
