What Are The Best Make Of Coffee Syrups
Hi All,
I bought a really great coffee machine yesterday & have got my coffees tasting just like Starbucks & Costa which has pleased me no end. .Now I have done some searching online for coffee syrups mainly chocolate so I can make a decent Mocha & Gingerbread for a Gingerbread latte .The only problem is that there are lots of makes of syrups. I was wondering if anyone here knew of a decent make which makes that home made frothy coffee even more special ?. Many Thanks DJM |

I used to buy them from Whittard but then they stopped selling the one I wanted. Now they have gone back to selling the syrups but in smaller bottles for the same price.
I checked everywhere on the net including ebay and then gave up. Although you can buy them it's no good spending all that and it arriving in a smashed bottle! Especially as they are expensive and I did not want the risk of that. I know one of the makes is Sweetbird. I gave up on buying syrup at all after switching to a flavoured coffee instead - Boaters do various flavoured coffees. My OH (who wanted the syrup) says the coffee is better without now he just has a flavoured coffee instead. It's much cheaper too! ps - welcome to the world of decent coffee for a fraction of the price of Starbucks (says someone who practically kept them in business at one time...) |

Starbucks have a syrup you can buy(the same one they use on their caramel macchiato) which is nice on frothy coffee.

Lyle's do a box of individual "sticks" of syrup - it includes chocolate, irish cream, hazelnut and toffee. You can buy them in most supermarkets, and it's ideal as it gives you a selection and exactly the right amount for one cup, with no mess.

http://www.espressoservices.co.uk/davinci_syrups.html and here; http://www.pennineteaandcoffee.co.uk/caaz085.htm and here; http://www.coffeehit.co.uk/CAT_ListC...-Coffee-Syrups Be sure and buy the pump for dispensing them on a shot-by-shot basis, it makes it so much easier than guessing how much to use. Once you know how much you like then you can easily repeat it. |
