Connecting camera to TV?

I am considering buying a TV without a card slot or USB port to show my photographs on TV. What kind of cable would I need to get in order to do this? Where would it plug in to the TV - A Panasonic LCD - camera a Canon.

Your camera might have come with an AV cable. On one end there will be whatever type of connector Canon use for their cameras, the other end will most likely have phonos - probably yellow for images and another colour (black?) for sound if the camera can take video.

Connect this to the TV and select the correct input via the remote. That should do you

BTW, if the camera didn't come with a cable as standard, or you've lost it, then have a look on Canon's site about getting a replacement.

Bear in mind that shows your camera pictures like this is in the worst possible quality, standard definition (scaled down in the camera) and PAL encoded, so with all the defects of PAL - basically your nice posh digital camera is been displayed as analogue terrestrial TV quality.

Your TV will have various AV inputs, look for 3 Phono sockets Red, White and Yellow the AV output lead supplied with your camera will plug into these. Some cameras have Stereo sound output via the Red and White Phono plugs some have Mono sound only via a White Phono the Yellow one is for the Video signal.

In most cases the picture quality will be quite good enough for the purpose of quickly looking through your pictures, so don't worry about Nigel's comments too much.

Yes, OK for 'quickly looking through them', but he specifically said he wanted to 'show' them - where it probably isn't good enough.
