I have just realised Diana does not have a great voice.
Was flicking channels there at the end of the football, caught Diana's performance again and realised of the "big 5" females her voice is by far the weakest.
I have been a big critic of Eoghan, for sounding samey, but I could probably say the same thing about Diana. She kind of reminds of me Coronation Street characters. I await the flack. |

made me laugh how louis was like "there's 5 really good females here"
louis... there's only 5 females there! but i think she has the weakest voice. it's undoubtedly good (not really my taste) but she couldnt belt out a song like laura, ruth, alex or rachel can |

I agree with op however it appears she is a chosen one last night for example she got the best set and no Big Band blasting over her small voice. To her credit she saves the show a bill for shoes and hairdresser.

I do like her, but she does have some odd pronounciation going on.
Last night I was reminded of the clips I have seen and heard of a young Cilla Black back in the 60s. |

DUNDEEBOY...I look forward to your next stunning revelations when you suddenly realise that there are four members of JLS and Ruth is Spanish
![]() Fact is, apart from the ridiculous pronunciation, the yelps, 'the hand' etc etc she actually hasn't remained in tune throughout any of the three songs she's murdered so far. This week was probably the closest approximation to the real tune she's managed on the live shows... |

I had kind of bought into the hype, now I realised she isn't very good, but she will appeal to a big demographic who vote.
Why was there no big-band involvement in her song, she just got to sing in her little girlie voice, nothing different from the previous two weeks. |

Oh how you made me laugh!. She has one of the weakest voices and she can only do one style, but as she's a blonde with big hair they are obviously giving her an easy path, last night was a joke when you think of how versatile and wonderful say Alexandra for example was. Lots of singers had to cope with an orchestra and choreography, Diana had neither to deal with. She might be doing well with the bookies but she's a one trick pony who can't do anything but wail like a junkie on smack, and she'll be long gone by the time the final week arrives. Thank goodness. |

Diana, strong voice I am afraid you must have got the names of the acts mixed up. The girl hersef says she does not have a strong voice like Laura and Alex. As Dundee boy says she sounds the same each week and the last thing it is is strong. |

I would bet as much as you like that Diana will last much longer than Alexandra in the competition. |

Her voice might not be the loudest but that doesn't matter cos the show is not called the loudest voice factor. |

One trick pony I'm afraid. I'm tiring of the same vocal tricks week in week out now. Although I did like her to start with.
ProVista....I agree about a young Cilla Black. It's exactly what my wife said. |

Well you won't be getting any flack from me OP.
If Simon is right and she IS like Marmite and you either love her or hate her ....well, put it this way, I don't love her. I hate the way she sings her words; it just grates on my ears. If she had a speech impediment, then I could understand. It's like they've started the hype and we're supposed to jump on the bandwagon and think she's amazing or something. Well I suppose I'm like the little boy in the story of 'The emperor’s clothes'. |

Part of the reason she stands out is that she isn't trying to break the sound barrier with every note (like Rachel, Laura, Alex and Ruth) - she knows her limitations and her strengths, and she's playing to those strengths - she'd be a fool to try and take the others on in a gobby contest.
Fortunately, loudest isn't necessarily best... I know if I had to pay and watch one of those five live, then her show would most likely be the most interesting, as opposed to the others just belting out covers by the numbers (and I do like Laura and Ruth). As for the hand thing, you only notice it if you're specifically looking for reasons to criticise... she's certainly got similarities to Dolores from the Cranberries vocally, but that's not a bad thing... i'm sure if you've got the time to waste, you could compare each of the acts to a current performer's voice... |
