Samsung Plasma screen retention getting worse
the hamster

Hi all

I've got a Samsung PS42C7HDX which i've had for a few years. Its had around 7,000 hours use.

Its served me very well so far but i've started to notice that its getting screen retention quite badly on Sky HD after very short periods of use.

10 seconds of the tv guide can leave an impression and logos are a pain. Even watching snooker or tennis leaves an outline on the screen after a very short period of time. It rarely used to do this and nothing has changed in terms of equipment or setting so i'm wondering why its getting worse.

Is there anything I can do to resolve this or am I stuck with it?

Any help is appreciated.

I would suggest your TV is faulty, it shouldn't do that.

its about 3 years old Nigel and didnt do it until recently. Might give Samsung a ring.

Usually it's the PDP that requires replacing that causes this type of effect - but it may just require either the X or Y panels, which are officially part of the PDP, but sometimes available separately.
