Hi, after some great help yesterday from 2 users I was told I needed a new reciever for HD audio. Problem is it costs 250 without speakers! I found a SONY HT-SF1300 yesterday and is a reciever with speakers for a good price! It says it can do Multi channel LPCM for HD audio. While this good it can't decode DTS-HDMA and similar codecs. My question is if I had a BLURAY player like the SONY BDPS550 that has onboard decoding of all codecs, would I recieve the DTS-HDMA sound through the reciever if i have the BDPS550 set to Linear PCM? Thanks in advance

The amp will handle LPCM via HDMI fine, so it should work OK. It does all depend on the player's abilities though, so check that thoroughly before buying a player.
