Does anyone have a setlist?

I'm going to the Manchester one on Sunday and I'd like to know beforehand. I'm going with a friend who has never heard Seventh Tree but has the other 3 albums, so I want to make her listen to them before we go

I eventually found one. I never knew they had a .co.uk and a .com, so found it on the .co.uk one.

Paper Bag
Cologne Cerrone Houdini
A&E
Number 1
Satin Chic
U Never Know
Happiness
Caravan Girl
Little Bird
Train
Eat Yourself
Ooh La La

3 encores

Monster Love
Black Cherry
Strict Machine

I was expecting some more from Felt Mountain, like Utopia or Human, but it's a decent list.

Hope you have a good night.

I went to see them at the Manchester Apollo a couple of years ago and they were fantastic.

Good. Oh La La is annoying. Supernature isn't too great, either.

They removed "Black Cherry" and replaced it with "Utopia" for the Leicester and Bristol gigs.

Oooh, fingers crossed then.

Utopia is probably one of my favourite songs from them.

No offense, but £22 is not expensive for a music gig. If you have been to cheaper gigs please let me know where you get the tickets from.

As for Goldfrapp live, saw them about 3 years ago at Brixton. Alison was amazing but the whole thing was ruined by loads of beer swilling chavs who weren't fans but liked 'Ooo La La' because they can dance round their handbags to it and say 'we're mad we are'. For that reason I will only go and see Goldfrap again if it is a small exclusive venue.

it's not that £22 is expensive, just too much to witness someone throwing their toys out of the pram, I saw them at manchester apollo a while back and they were amazing, and to be fair the liverpool uni venue was quite small

apparently people were using flash photography, alison asked them to stop, midway thru A&E they were still flashing away so she walked off strage, and came back a few minutes later and people were booing :\

Yes it is.

I've never been to a gig costing that much, and I've been to a good few.

Need to move up north

She said after the first song that she didn't want flash photography, then one, maybe two people flashed in A&E and she just walked off. The band kept playing for a min, then realised what had gone on and went off. At first everyone was having a go at the people with the cameras like "stop using the bloody flash" but then one person shouted "get back on stage you prima dona"
Eventually she came back with a large glass of wine and carried on.

I agree with you lettuce, at that price you expect her to be more profesional. I personally felt her stage pressance and overall performance was lacking compared to the last time I saw 'Frapp.

If you've gone to see an act live and the venue and/or artist request no flash photography (and most venues have this policy), the artist is well within their right to walk off, in fact well within their right to ask you to delete the image on your camera. With so many phone's coming with cameras these days flash photography is fast becoming a nuisance at gigs, it's distracting for the artist but it's even more distracting for audience members directly around the culprit. i don't think it's unfair to ask people to switch their flashes off, and if you desperately want to take a flash photograph atleast wait til a part of the show where it's not gonna be as distracting, whether thats becuase of the lighting or it's the last number. My real pet hate at the moment are people with video phones at gigs, they spend half their time watching the gig through their screen whilst I get a distreacting eyeful while i'm trying to watch, all for the sake of some poor quality upload on youtube.

When she visited our venue earlier this year, my general impression was that rather than being the stroppy diva people paint a picture of, she's actually just a very shy and nervous person, which i think comes across quite clearly on the live lounge performance they did this year too.

considering the amount of strobes in her face for the majority of the gig, i can only assume she was referring to several people with some serious photo equipment that were dotted about, mobile flashes are pathetic and would not have cut through the stage lights. i presumed they were something to do with mtv or the venue, however they were not regular gig goers.

I think you're spot on on both counts, bohoboy.

A lot of the songs that Goldfrapp perform have been written with very personal thoughts or stories at their base and when idiots (a strong word but how else would you describe their ignorance) use flashes in Alison's face she's going to get pulled out of her headspace and only be thinking "I'm on stage at [venue]". She has a strong mind for how the songs should be performed and if she thinks she's being forced to give a lesser performance then stopping and carrying on once sorted is much preferable. Some would say more professional to care about the show so much.

Far from the ridiculously biased and shoddy Liverpool review linked I'd say that she was completely right to go off. If she asks politely (and from people there this seems to be the case) for the flashes to stop and at the start of the very next track they ignore her and carry on then how would you feel. Whether the people with the camera kit were ignorant or arrogant is obviously unknown but surely one or the other. Alison was shielding her eyes with her sleeve during opener Paper Bag so they *must* have known they were getting in her eyes.

People are very quick to see an artist do something and assume the worst then, via the speed of the internet, shout from the hill tops about it. How about folks just stop and think for a moment about possible other reasons.

As a follow on from that reply I'd add that Manchester Apollo last night was the best Goldfrapp show I've seen - real enthusiasm from Alison and spot on playing from the band. The crowd were up for it and, apart from a couple here and there, respectful with cameras and everybody got a belter.

Respect works both ways at gigs - paying your £22 doesn't mean you have a performing toy of your own......

Me and my hubby went to the Manchester Apollo gig last night and had a great time. Alison has a fantastic voice and the band are very in tune to her. She does come across as a shy person as she does not have much of a rapport with the audiance- she doesnt talk or even introduce the band which is a shame. But that is her thing. We saw the band a couple of years ago and it was exactly the same then.
I can understand her getting in a strop about lights flashing in her face whilst she is performing but it is very hard to stop this kind of thing going on. You could confiscate cameras and video recorders from going into concerts but with the advent of high tech mobile phones this is very difficult to do now.
I thought the show was fantastic (only marred by the extortionate price of drinks at these kind of venues).
Roll on the next new album and tour!!!!

People should watch the South Bank show feature on her about 3 years ago. She is a very shy person with a lot of integrity about her music. She isn't given to half hearted performances. If she walked off stage it is because she felt her performance was compromised.

I loved the gig. A little bit more calm than I would have expected (a lot of slower songs from Felt Mountain and Seventh Tree - All of which were great).

I actually liked the ones from Supernature, except for You Never Know. Boring? Eeeek!

I loved Strict Machine at the end, and the extended version of Little Bird.

I am sooooo glad they done Utopia. Amazing!

There was an announcement last night saying photography was allowed but no flashes. I think most people stuck to that but some people never.

Do people not realise that flashes will do little when the stage is already lit up? All it does is light up the heads in front of you making the picture crap.

The stage was really nice with the overlay videos.

Set list:

01. Paper Bag
02. A&E
03. Utopia
04. Cerrone Cologne Houdini
05. You Never Know
06. Satin Chic
07. Eat Yourself - I thought this was going to be Clowns. It started almost exactly the same way.
08. Little Bird (Extended version)
09. Number 1
10. Happiness
11. Ooh La La
12. Caravan Girl
13. Train
14. Monster Love
15. Black Cherry
16. Strict Machine

Hearing the songs properly made me realise how many words I never knew when singing along

I moved to Manchester the day before the gig, eek.

By the way, the support act was DULL. The crowd were really bored. It was an acoustic act. If you go on MySpace you could find 50,000 lads from the UK who sound exactly like he did. It actually made me quite sleepy so I never enjoyed the first few Goldfrapp songs because I was too bored. Judging by the conversations I heard around me, most people felt the same.

That's the odd thing with music - for me, YNK is one of the tracks that's really coming into it's own live on this tour. Those big dramatic string/synth stabs and Alison's vocal work around them is really big and bold. I've grown to quite look forward to that in a set.

I really wanted to like him as he seemed a nice enough chap but once you'd heard his first song you'd pretty much heard his entire set. It just merged into one long strum and murmur, didn't it. Good luck to him and all that but it wasn't for me.
