Does anyone know of a machine
that you can dump all your dvds/cds onto (ie some form of dvd player) so you can watch your entire collection without having to go to the shelf to choose a dvd/cd?
I thought i saw something of the sort on the gadget show (maybe a media PC or something) but wondered if any are available. Im supposing the pronblem is the copyright of copying the disks onto some form of hardware. Would be something id want to purchase. Any ideas? |

A media pc is the way forward. I have one, and you can pick up a good 'un for about £500-700 depending on your budget.
Mine has in it Quad Core 2.8ghz (x4), 4gb RAM, 1tb HDD, decent graphics card (forget the make and model There is a feature within Windows Media Centre on Vista "DVD Library" but needs activating via a quick edit in the registry. This will give you all your movies in one place. Rather embarassing for the missus, my 4yr old daughter knows where her films are kept too. A cracking piece of kit, and well recommended. I paid £560 for mine of e-bay and was 10 days old (was 2nd hand). Now I've tinkered with it, it's fantastic. I haven't tried any Blu-Ray movies yet, but I have a couple waiting for me tonight from Tesco DVD Rental to try out
