A bit unfair on him seeing as nobody really likes the groups and they never seem to win.

XF1

Sharon: U' 24's
Simon: Over 25's
Louis: Groups

XF2

Sharon: Over 25's
Simon: Groups
Louis: U' 24's

XF3

Sharon: Over 25's
Simon: U' 24's
Louis: Groups

XF4

Sharon: Girls
Simon: Groups
Louis: Over 25's
Danni: Boys

XF5

Simon: Boys
Louis: Groups
Danni: Over 25's
Cheryl: Girls

He should get the girls next year or the boys.

He's better suited to the groups, he usually manages groups outside of the show..

Cheryl might have the groups next year because of her personal experience?!

What experience? Singing in a group and managing/mentoring a group are two totally different roles.

Wonder if it's just coincidence that none of the female judges have had the groups so far? Perhaps as it's usually the poorest section, they give it to one of the two permanent judges...

No confusion, it just means nothing. Dannii Minogue, as a female singer, has never mentored any of the female categories. If anything, I think the show's producers try to avoid the obvious because the obvious is boring. :yawn:

Who did he have in his second go in groups? First time was obviously G4, and this time JLS.

Same Difference were last series, I think Journey South were series two, because I believe they were beaten by Shayne.

But for the life of me I can't think of the groups for Leona's series...was it the 4tune/Futureproof year?

The groups for that series were

* The Unconventionals (out first)
* 4Sure (out second)
* Eton Road (fifth)
* MacDonald Brothers (fourth)

Dannii won't be given a female category purely because she is female
However, being in the UK's biggest girl band is pretty significant. She knows how to make it work

The reason Louis gets the groups is probably because it's cheaper to fly the groups over to Ireland for boot camp!

Well this is only her second series?

And she had four females to choose from at the judges home stage, so I don't see what you're getting at?

Would you say the same if Simon got the groups this year as by your own reckoning they were even stevens untill this year 2-2?

Louis is an atrocious mentor of groups on the show. the good groups he has had he didnt know what to do with them. I dont understand when westlife,boyzone etc have been huge. he obviously knows enough, so why doesnt he use some of his expertise?! maybe hes just lost his touch

3 of the 4 females were under 26 so its not that different to Cheryl's category.

Which, in theory is even more of an advantage. as they don't exceed her own age......I expect Mid-Late 20's was quite an important part of her career.

and since 4 our of 6 of the females in Cheryl Category were under 20 it is considerably different to Dannii's Category...

I remember Sharon saying that she had refused to mentor the groups!
