I have a HD television with Freeview which I rarely use due to Sky HD but it keeps losing channels.

I checked last night and it had no channels. I turned off the software update in the hope it might help. Sometimes you go on and some channels are all over the place or in 800 any ideas what's up with the Freeview tuner on the TV?

The chances are that your TV is blameless it's your Aerial that's not good enough. Much advice has been posted here about this type of thing so just dig around the Forums and you'll find a wealth of information on this.

Thanks. Any previous Freeview receivers I have had just save channels and have no signal if the quality is low.

I'm not sure why it wipes all channels without a auto rescan?

Make/model of TV? Could be a known issue, possibly connected to NIT split.

What's the NIT split? I just know the TV is a Acoustic Solutions model bought from Argos in the summer it seems to have software like Goodmans boxes.

Have a look in the Freeview forums. A change in transmission was made across the last few months which has affected some equipment where it can't connect the LCN to the channel, with channels often ending up in the 800s.

However if a rescan fixes it, then it's likely not that.

I rescanned and got them working a few weeks back but it they have disappeared again.

It seems to work fine for a few months and they vanish and I need to rescan which can be a bit of a pain.

Many tvs will remove a channel when it is no longer available - mine does it - so Eurosport disappeared on its own.

If you have a weak signal - then the tv may think these channels to have gone and removes them.
