Are they not talking about last years yawn-fest?

In which case, surely its bad news for Dannii?

The voting is at the moment, its obvious either strictly or x factor will win because its on atm. People aren't voting about what they think of last years shows they are judging it on the current performance. Also Dannii attended last years event, why would she have gone if it applied only to the previous year?

If anything it's because of Sharon Osbourne and her awful behaviour last year.

They showed 1 or 2 clips from last year when Leon wins. The rest of the clips are from this year.

Can anyone tell me if the X Factor won last year or the year before? I still can't believe that the XF and BGT lost out to SCD

Good for Cheryl. She joins and they get their highest ratings ever and for the first time consistently beat Strictly.

I doubt he is too worried. The fact that they lead in the ratings for the first time since 2005 is actually a very good reflection on her and far far more important.

Simon was gutted that XF didn't win, he won't be a happy bunny. It was nice that SCD won, they so weren't expecting to.

Does anyone under the age of 30 watch 'Strictly Come Dancing'?? I'm just curious.

It's just it seems that everyone I know.. their parents watch it, but they dont!

I'm under 30 and watch it too. It has a wider fan base then many believe.

They were showing clips from this year's X Factor.

Nearly all were of the crap auditionees who were booted out in the first round, though

And they had Austin and Erin on, announcing an award, and mentioned Arlene Phillips early on, albeit saying thank you for choreographing the dance routines of Brittania High.

Plenty do, around a million actually, nowhere near as many as watch XF but about the same number that watch Coronation Street, Hollyoaks or Big Brother.

Even though people are still watching the x factor people are probably getting a bit tired of the old format and are probably getting fed up with the whole bad auditions, sob stories etc ... I know that Strictly has been going for a couple of years but the standard is going up and just speaking for myself I find it good entertainment.

Strictly isn't just for the old fogies just like x factor isn't just for the kids .. they both have a wide appeal .. Strictly has a good mix of celebs on it from soap stars, news readers, more mature actors/actresses, TV presenters, singers, sports stars so they attract all kinds of viewers .. the professionals also have their own huge fan bases

Simon and the producers were actually quite gutted they didn't win - all had their head in their hands. During the ad breaks the voice over guy did a poll of the audience (cheer loudest type thing) to see who they wanted to win. Nobody cheered for Talent, only a few for Strictly, huge applause for XF!

That surprises me a bit. I guess Britain's Got Talent is being overshadowed by the annual X Factor v SCD battle, but I think it's been the best reality TV show of the lot this year.

Hi, I'm over 30 and can't stand SCD, and although saw some bits of it it once, wasn't for me, as I prefer the rawness of XFactor, AI, BB, Jungle Celeb and the like, and SCD doesn't come near rawness. -shakeshead-

Exactly. The ratings are the most important thing at the end of the day. IMO Cheryl has been a breath of fresh air on the XFactor this year.

Much better than the cringyworthy Mrs O When she was on i found myself switching channels sometimes when she was giving her comments

Cheryl is me fave judge on the show by far and imo is part of the reason for the higher ratings this time round
