I saw Bjorn Again at the 1992 Reading Festival when Nirvana were headlining. Half way through their set of Abba songs "Bjorn" suddenly broke into the riff of Smells Like Teen Spirit. The crowd went mental (and "Benny" asked him what on earth he was doing.) It was a great moment.

I recently saw a Smiths tribute act (can't remember what they're called) and they were pretty good.

It all started with the Bootleg Beatles, didn't it?

Not a tribute band as such, but if you even get the chance to see The Hamsters then go for it. They do Hendrix and ZZ Top covers plus a few of their own and classic blues/rock stuff.

Two great ones I've seen

Disposable Heroes - Metallica
Powerage - ACDC

Also heard good things about The Next Pistols - The Sex Pistols and The Rawmones - The Ramones.

Saw The Bootleg Beatles do an outdoor gig a few years back, they were really good as well.

Saw 'the bootleg beatles', and 'bjorn again' and they were excellent.
Would much rather watch 'proper' bands but as the originals won't play again it's the next best thing.
There's probably too many of them though, off to see Red Light Company in Leeds next month, only £6, can't beat the buzz of watching a new band for the price of a ticket to see a tribute band.
By the way saw a Hungarian Beatles tribute group in Magaluf years ago and they were brilliant!
One thing I do think is pointless is tribute comedians, can't think of anything worse than a Peter Kay tribute keep saying 'Garlic bread'
Get your own personality!

Saw Bjorn Again when they were supporting the Spice Girls at Wembley in the late nineties!

Also the rubbish acts you have on holiday who are meant to be Elvis!

Saw the Australian Doors (any guesses who they were a tribute to?) a good few years back and they were excellent

Heard about a new tribute band this week called "The Pussycat Trolls"...........the name alone is inspired imo

I've seen these a few times, and they just get better.

They are as close to the real thing as it is possible to get.
