Recording Sky+ to DMR-EX77 - complains of copy protection when recording

I've just had my Sky box replaced with a Sky+ box. When I tried to use it yesterday to timer record Stargate Atlantis from Sky1 directly to my Panasonic EX77, whilst playing back something else from the machine, I noticed that about five or six times I'd get square info banner on screen changing from REC back to PAUSE for a few seconds before returning to REC again.

(I normally expect this at the start of a timer record - it first pauses and then goes into record mode.)

After the recording had finished, the timer list and the navigational view had a symbol showing the recording may have failed due to copy-protection. The recording looks fine except for the jumps cause by the random pauses.

I wondered whether this was a loose SCART lead problem, so I pushed it all the way in and repeated the recording tonight from Sky2.

I got the same issue again.

My old Sky box worked fine, so I'm wondering what could have happened...

I didn't think Sky1/Sky2 were copy-protected, nor did I believe that Sky and Sky+ boxes differed from the signals they output.

Both my old Sky box and this Sky+ box were connected via SCART from the TV OUT on the Sky box (to preserve RGB) to the AV2 socket on the Panasonic.

I wondered if anyone else had come across this?

Looks like the problem is with Sky, who have apparently being sending out the copy protect flag at random on their channels...
