Philips 6006 and RGB
David Waine
09-10-2003
I have a Philips 28PW6006 TV set, which is in many ways exemplary - but it does have one peculiar trait. Could anyone explain it to me, please? It accepts an RGB signal from my Panasonic Sky digibox quite happily but when I connect a DVD player to the same scart socket, the RGB signal results in an extremely dark picture with a heavy red cast. This happened with my original Toshiba DVD / VCR combi unit (exchanged twice under warranty because I thought it was faulty) and does the same with my new Panasonic DMR-E50. I have to watch DVDs via the other scart socket, which is not supposed to be RGB enabled, yet delivers a terrific picture with the player set to RGB. Could somebody tell me what is going on?
