Does anyone have a really YUM recipe for bean burgers? Preferably one that doesn't involve any cheese (yes, I know I said bean burgers but who knows what goes in them)

Tesco do some really nice, cheeseless ones. The mushroom burgers are really, really nice.

I don't have a set recipe but normally I:

Take 1 can of black beans, drain and mash thoroughly.

Add chopped onion, crushed garlic, herbs of choice and maybe a chopped birdseye chili if you're brave.

Add other seasonings to taste (usually either chili powder, cajun or jerk seasoning) and salt and pepper.

Add a binder, either half an egg or some flour/breadcrumbs. Adjust how much egg/flour is used so the mixture isn't too wet or too dry.

Divide the mixture into burger shapes.

Roll each burger in cornmeal to give it a nice crunch once cooked.

Let the burgers rest in the fridge for about 20 minutes then grill or fry.

NUM!!!!

I buy my bean burgers from Sainsbury's. I don't think they have cheese in them and the ingredients are healthy and don't have anything latin listed that might be poisonous.
