Hi, my Tevion TV has just given up, after 18 months, apparently, I am entitled to a full refund when I return it to store as no parts/replacements are available. Therefore, can anyone please recommend a replacement - £400 ish!
Samsungs came highly recommended in my local store - although previously, I was looking at Sony. Which brand is now considered reliable? All info gratefully received, thank you

I think you'll be a bit hard pushed to find a Samsung or a Sony for £400. If you can afford a bit more (£600) I'd look at a Panasonic. But if you can get a Samsung or Sony for £400 I'd snap either of them up.

Sony and Panasonic are considered far above Samsung, you can usually find 32 inch Sony's for £399 or so.

Hi,
I would recommend you the Sony Bravia KDL-32L4000 for £363.48

32 inch, Widescreen, LCD, HD Ready, Sony Bravia Engine
You can read a review on it: http://alatest.co.uk/reviews/tv-revi...97384,33/?nr=1

but also Panasonic produces good TV's though....

Who'd have thought buying a tv could be so hard! I'd decided upon the Sony, set of to local store to buy - they had lots, said were struggling to sell them, showed me a demo and said see for yourself why they're not selling - picture quality was poor compared to all others there - they recommended a sharp lc32d44. The next store said they didnt trust that sony actually make the parts now, considering sainsburys sell them, therefore don't stock them and I should strongly consider the jvc equivalent. The next store basically said the same and that I should buy a samsung. The final large department store had the sony on display, it looked as good as anything else there and they highly recommended it! I came away with a headache, empty handed - Please help me choose!

I don't know where you've been, or what they do to the sets? - but we connect all our sets in an identical fashion, and Sony out perform everything else. Sharp are probably second best, but the price difference isn't enough to make them sell well.

Sony, as well as been good performers, are also extremely reliable, and have long had that reputation - that isn't to say they haven't made some absolute disasters! (but so has everyone else) - but their TV's have always been some of the most reliable.

Thanks for the replies - i really do like the surround/trim of the sony - the 32V4000 - best so think I'll just go for it. Richer Sounds is the store I can get it cheapest - anyone had any dealings with this store?

Many people here swear by them, just make sure it's in the original sealed box.

They have a very good reputation so I don't think you can go wrong there.
