of course it would have to N enabled for HD transfer of files

and one sky + box and any other gadget for your telly to hook up too.

just think NO arguing about cables, just a power plug.

Me too!.

However, Sharp are supposed to be releasing (and may already have?) a wall mounted LCD with only a mains lead required. It uses an RF HD link to the screen from the media box that accepts all the inputs.

Is it uncompressed HD? If so what frequency will it be using as that's a hell of a bandwidth.

Ah right.

Are we talking about a TV with built in wi-fi here?

I seem to remember reading about one as well .... and it did use an "N" standard connection.

I've tried streaming compressed x264 HD files over my wireless G network and I can *just* get away with streaming files up to about 720p quality. One dropout in the network though and it starts glitching .....

It's a nice thing to have but, personally, I find wireless to temperamental. There would need to be a BIG improvement (bigger than the jump from G to N I suspect) to get me away from using a wired solution for HD.

I can practically guarantee that Russ Andrews would soon start offering high-end air purifiers to free your system from the shackles imposed by passing radio waves through contaminated air. There might even be a market for bottles of oxygen-free air...

And anyway, what do you mean by "just a power plug"? I've seen audiophile-grade fuses, let alone plugs.

No idea what it is, but Sharp keep claiming it's appearing 'shortly'
