Cyberhome 400 vs 402 vs 505

Has anyone done a comparison of these 3 models ?

The main uses will be : -

- watching commercial dvds

- watching my own home-produced dvds on dvd-r and +rw (mostly videos of my kids uploaded from my camcorder)

- displayingand jpeg photoalbums.

I may want to play the occasional vcd or svcd as well but this is less important.

I'm particularly interested in the relative picture quality and also disc compatibility / sensitivity of each as the Pacific 1002W I bought from Asda wont play DVD+RW's.

aha, bit of a cyberhome expert myself here, i work on the cyberhome forum, lots of views there, id go for the 402, the 505 is no longer supported and the 402 is an upgraded 400.

Ill pm the forum link to you

Thanks Dan , after posting my message here I discovered the cyberhome forum and posted it there as well

My local Richer sounds have a 505 in stock, is it worth the extra £30 (£99.99 vs £69.99). They have lots of 402's but all in black whereas I need a silver one

hmm if you had told me this time last week i could have got you a 505 for £49.99 with free delivery!

now then, there are a few other places that sell cyberhome. The 505 is a damn good machine in all respects but the JPEG facility is added in a firmware update and is kindof slow. i recommend you try and find a 405 which is a 402 but with dolby digital decoder and iirc plays JPEG and MPEG straight off cd!

Just seen ya post on ch help
