Orange email settings

I'm at my wit's end here, Orange CS have got absolutely no idea what I'm asking them.

I'm an Orange pay monthly customer and I just went on their website to sign up for an orange.net - all good.

I want to set up Outlook to use the orange email account and there is nothing on the Orange website to show how to do it, the only advice applies to if I use orange broadband.

When I called them they simply could not comprehend the fact I wanted to use orange.net but did not have Orange broadband.

If orange.net email cannot be used in Outlook then fine - but there's nothing to say if it can or how to do it.

Anyone manage to sort it out? I tried pop.orange.net and smtp.orange.net but that's not working.

Not my area of expertise I'm afraid so I can't advise you really. However it wouldn't surprise me if the orange.net account can only be used as webmail.

The best people would be the broadband team - ask CS to put you through to speed dial 314.

I spoke to them - they failed to understand the fact I'm using an orange email address without having orange broadband.

LOL - Oh dear. I'm off work today or I'd try and find out myself for you. If you want to I can find out on Monday for you.

I've got an Orange.net email address, the settings are:

Username: yourtelno@orange.net (i.e. 07976232555@orange.net)

Incoming: pop.orange.net

Outgoing: smtp.orange.net

Hmmm, each time I put teshman's settings in I keep being asked for my username and password, as if one of them is wrong.

Do you get this prompt when sending or receiving emails or even both?

I think orange.net are having problems sending emails at the mo, so if that's when the prompt's coming up, I wouldn't worry about it too much for now.

I'm having exactly the same trouble - it keeps asking for my username and password when I'm receiving mail.
