Wonder what's with all these sudden bets on her in the last 2 days or so

I don't think she can win. Not even close. I think Austin, JLS, Ruth - all have bigger chances than she does.

Flurry of bets usully happens because of inside information. Diana is favourite with the bookies because of inside information. Someone might have leaked the results of the phone vote, nice little money earner.

i see her as a 'leona'but not as good sorry.
she could well go on to win it.. but theres's a lot of talent this yr.
i do think the public are looking for someone different maybe like Diana
she seems to have a huge fan base right now.

And her odds are shortening and Dianas are drifting so who knows what can happen as there is a good few weeks left yet.

Could be that Diana's odds were so short 2/1 etc that she just wasn't worth betting on where Alex is a good outside bet

Those odds are based on the " best " quotes for every contestant. Laura and Alexandra are neck and neck...some quote odds of 7/2 Laura, 9/2 Alexandra.

Last year proved that odds don't mean a thing....

Well this is the first ive ever heard of this. I have to say that although Alex is brilliant and i would like her to get in the top two with Ruth (Ruth winning) i just think she wont make it sadly. I dont think Austin and Eoghan are going to make it to the final because Eoghan has a tremondous hate thread and Austin is a big baby, he cries every time he gets through to the over stages, besides if he does win he is gonna crack under the spotlight, im just telling you now before the public make the worse decision in their lifes (which they wont anyway)

I only agree with Austin out of those three. I don't think Rachel is that popular and, like JLS, has been very hit and miss (mostly miss) in the live shows.

I don't see her as a Leona at all and in my opinion she is a lot better. Her vocal register is only marginally smaller, she has greater versatility, a warmer vocal tone, the ability to convey a lyric rather just sing and incomparably better performance skills.

They already did that last year.

Alex is miles better then Austin and JLS. And she has more personality then Austin.

It dosen't mean she has more fans though...

To be honest I think its too close for anyone to really call, and especially at this stage where we have 8 strongish acts and 1 weak act.

Until more start to appear in the bottom 2/ the audience can see more of their singing, I don't think odds/ fanbases/ personality mean anything

They need to be singing their own choices of songs as welll none of these stupid themes,

Don't get me started on the themes lol....

It would be 100 times better if they could sing whatever they wanted

Also some of the themes give some an advantage over others

it's the lunacy i have never understood is allowed to go unchallenged!!!

So say a group like JLS turn in a bad performance signing ABBA - and are ejected. Can there be any justification for throwing out a band for not signing well a song they would never perform if they won a contract?

Its total bollox.

Yes also big band, disco and mariah week are going to advantage certain singers over others, they should go for more wider themees like 80's etc

When X Factor started they had no themes and many people said they missed the theme weeks as they had in Pop Idol, so they introduced them to X Factor. You can't please everyone.

I think she has the 3rd most fans on facebook, Diana first, then Laura. Of course Austin has most of teenage girls, little girls and gay votes

I thought the reason given by Simon was that it 'stretched' the artist to sing something they wouldn't normally sing - which is a far remit. However when you give them Abba or Michael Jackson or Mariah Bloody Carey as themes, it kinda strays away from the point of the remit as certain acts will never release songs within any of those styles.

The thing that also annoyed me was The judges saying on week 1/ 2 how certain acts weren't contemporary and then the following weeks its Big Band which is so far from contemparary and 'relevant' to todays music its untrue
